Could we have 2 sticky threads placed in possibly the relationships section entitled
I'm leaving
&
I miss
Then all posts regarding the first can be moved to them, if you havent seen a member post in a while you can go look at this thread to see if they have left or not.
Similarly with the 'I miss', if members feel the need to mourn the loss of members it can be done there rather than all over the board.
Maybe i sound callous but for any new members joining us it looks pretty bad if the front page is constantly full of I'm leaving or i miss threads so even if its for that reason only i would like Admin to consider this request.
I realise this is extra work for the moderators having to continually amalgamate the threads as no doubt even if you put a sticky up people would still post them on the main board so maybe you could discuss the pro's & cons between yourself's. Thanks for looking :-6

In that case, could we sticky all the silly threads like "what breakfast cereal do you like?" and stuff like that, because I've been sick of the fluff threads for a long time now. It's like there's no meat and potatoes in here anymore.

i like this idea, and then maybe spot wont accuse me of baiting. There are so many members we miss and it's only fair we get to post who they are.

But you *know* what happens whenever you do it. Owls hoot and comets appear in the sky, two-headed goats are born, milk turns green overnight and graves issue forth their very dead to walk among us once again. Forsooth. Every time!
Go on then, I'll get my BB gun for protection and we can snuggle up for the afternoon on that grassy knoll over there where nobody will see us.

The technical term is probably "harbinger of doom" not jinx. Stormy petrel. T'was you that shot the albatross. Posters posting everywhere but none of them stop to think. I'm not sure where the fire comes in but you qualify as a regular cracker, I always said that.

It bothered a bunch of people once, though as a practice it's at a historically low ebb. The euphemism "I miss X" as a deliberate prelude to a fight has disappeared entirely, I haven't seen one since the end of February. These days it's worded more as "Where's X got to?" and it means just that. The "I miss X" warfare disappeared when new people arrived who never knew the fights had even happened, I don't think it would be possible for another to break out at this late stage. There's only one way to find out, of course.

Thats fair enough Spot, i just thought i'd ask, fighting was not in my mind when i asked the question, it was 'how does it look to newbies on the main page' when there are a lot of individual posts about leaving, missing people. I was concerned it looked depressing. Anyway, thanks for the response. As it dont concern admin or any other members at all, i'm over it & off to post 'where is threads'

I've sent you detailed instructions and you still don't know how quote tags work. Just think of the mischief you could get into if you learned.
