Okay, I love jewelry as much as anyone.... but I am thinking "No" to this eyeball thing :-2
Surgeons implant glittering shapes into eye's membrane
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands - Body piercing and tattoos make way. The latest fashion trend to hit the Netherlands is eyeball jewelry.
Dutch eye surgeons have implanted tiny pieces of jewelry called “JewelEye†in the mucous membrane of the eyes of six women and one man in cosmetic surgery pioneered by an ophthalmic surgery research and development institute in Rotterdam.
The procedure involves inserting a 0.13 inch wide piece of specially developed jewelry -- the range includes a glittering half-moon or heart -- into the eye’s mucous membrane under local anaesthetic at a cost of $610 to $1,232.
“In my view it is a little more subtle than (body) piercing. It is a bit of a fun thing and a very personal thing for people,†said Gerrit Melles, director of the Netherlands Institute for Innovative Ocular Surgery.
The piece of jewelry is inserted in the conjunctiva -- the mucous membrane lining the inner surface of the eyelids and front of the eyeball -- in sterile conditions using an operating microscope in a procedure taking about 15 minutes.

whenever they come to jail all jewelry , money, and piercings etc. go into a sealed bag and put into their property, signed off by two deputies. when they are released they get it back. if they are going to prison arrangements must be made for it to be released to someone. ..this was so funny...one night i bring in two drunk females. one has a large diamond ring on that won't come off. we threw the both of them in a holding cell in booking. so i am in the back firing up the breathalyzer to deal with these two. i hear screaming....well one says the other sucked her ring off and swallowed it!! i did an inch by inch search of cell and both of these idiots...and no ring. so i have to call my LT, wake him up, and authorize a trip to hospital for x-rays. then we have to charge this bimbo with grand theft and someone has to wait for the evidence to emerge. oh no way in hell was i going to do that! well let me tell you, i asked the judge next day to release these two fools on their own recognizance and that was the end of that fiasco!
