How do we feel about these?



I've seen some front lawns that look like Miniature World. It's kind of cute but... sheesh... every day you look at that?

Well, I have a pair of pink flamingos...................

I have a few fairies,but in my back garden.I dont keep a lot out the front as they would be pinched

One of my exes once brought me home a lawn ornament that was so ugly, it actually made me cry. It was a huge birdbath in the shape of a giant sea shell. Wrapped around it in both sides were 2 BLUE swans. It was a revolting blue, flecked with gold. I made him immediately put the thing in the trunk of his car. That lawn ornament incident was the beginning of our 6 year relationship spiraling down into nothing.

Lawn ornaments make the world a nicer place to live dont you think so ?

When life is getting you down and it seems as if youre losing the battle there they are. All happy and chipper smiling and gleeful welcoming you home. After a long day in the mad scientist lab I like to sit on my lawn and talk to them. Theyre my only real friends. I enjoy throwing out bread crumbs for the birds so the lawn ornaments can make friends with them while Im out.

I think the most important thing is that they dont judge me. They dont question my sanity. And they dont want anything from me.



But I would have to say my favorite thing about them is that they dont call me a retard then throw rotten fruit at me. I cant really stress how much that means to me. :-6

My grandfather had a skunk lawn ornament on his lawn, my grandmother was furious at that little stinker....................:wah:

In moderation, they are ok. To many and it looks tacky! :wah:

Well, I think anyone can do with their lawn what they want to but I'm not a big fan of certain kinds of lawn garnish. The worst offenders are the old used toilet with marigolds planted in it. Who came up with this? Nobody thinks toilets are cute or attractive, who wants to see one setting on your lawn as a planter?! Next up in tackiness are the grandma and grandpa wooden cutouts where they look like they're bending over and their drawers are dropped. I also don't like the half-a-kid statues that look like a sad kid is leaning up against the house crying.

Out here we have these lifesize wooden "leaning cowboy" silhouettes. You attach them to your house so it looks as if Clint Eastwood is chilling out with a smoke.

Don't understand those concrete lawn geese people buy little costumes for either. What's that about?

Don't see a need to recycle every damn thing either. Old tires with daisies planted in them are still old tires with daisies planted in them.

There's a house out my way that I fondly refer to as "Welcome to Lawn Ornament Emporium."

I'm not exaggerating when I say there must be 60-70 lawn garnishes there. EVERYTHING is there. Toilets, tires, pinwheels, grandma/grandpa and their falling drawers, cement burros, siesta-ing Mexicans, cactus cutouts, giant plastic daisies, flamingoes, concrete geese, just everything you would possibly find in a Miles Kimball catalog or on sale at Wal-mart. It is horrendous. I crack up every time I pass by so maybe it serves a purpose after all.

I like birdbaths and fountains and the occasional angel or saint francis statue. But that's about it for me.

Gnomes were made fashionable by the movie The Full Monte. ( One of my all time favorite movies) My son steals them off peoples lawns, and puts them in his room. I am not condoning the stealing, but it is pretty funny actually. Its sort of a thing the guys do. I think stealing them is like that mascot thing they used to do in colleges.

I have a old John Deere Planter box that I use to plant flowers in.

I always wanted to plant ivy in an old boot.

My neighbor has the geese in her front yard - she changes the clothes/capes on them - whats up with that? I don't get it?

I laugh everytime I notice the new clothes.

I have no lawn ornaments, except right now the old entertainment center that I took out of the living room...Its in the front yard.

There is a house on one of the main roads here that as so many yard ornaments that it looks like a "ornament amusment park"...its very tacky!!

A guy across the street from me put up a pinwheel he made that created the worst racket. He wanted to sell them. I offered to buy it if he promised to never make another one.

I know it was edgy but I put up with it for a long time before I said anything.
