God yes! This summer has been a bust. I had a summer job, got sick because of summer job, and got fired from summer job for missing too many days for being sick. Oh well, it was a crumby job anyway.

I just want school to start back up so I can get back to doing something useful besides being "the man in the yellow hat" for my monkeys¦er¦ boys.

Good grief no, summer could last all year for me!

I don't want to go back to school, as of yesterday, I still have no classroom! Like where is 6th grade science going to be?

Besides, no FG at school, it is blocked...............:(

Although it has been around 90 degrees with terrible humidity here lately, I'm never ready for summer to end. Sure, fall, with the leaves changing colors is beautiful, but it's also a reminder that winter is around the corner. I don't dislike winter, I hate it with a passion.

Wow Peg, my thoughts exactly. I hate winter here, being cold for 6-8 months of the year. I didn't get out of thermals until April this year, snow at Easter!

I love summer, even with the heat...I hate to see it end...wayyyyy toooo short for me.

Of course I will enjoy my kids going to bed at a decent hour, but getting them up in the morning for school and packing lunches...well, that's life!!

I dislike cold weather, was supposed to be born into a weathly family that lives in Florida somewhere.:-5:-5

It's 120 degrees out here for three months of the year. I have no use for summer. Bring on winter so I can slip into my jeans and comfy sweatshirts and stop having to wear my hair put up.

I just got home from walking all over the U of Memphis campus. Please keep that in mind as I rant:

Its unbearably hot. Its 104 degrees here today, and that does not take in consideration the heat index. Humidity is so thick its almost painful. Mosquitos attack like starving wolves every time you step out the door. My a/c is running every second of the day just to keep the indoor temperature at 75 degrees.

Going to the pool isn't even fun because the heat sears you like a walking tuna steak after 3 minutes.

Autumn is my favorite season... the death of summer... die summer die

... and that is how I feel about that.

Ah, but the beauty of a summer evening is worth it.

The glow of the fireflies.

The warmth of the summer moon.

The sparkle of the stars as the cicadas sing in the background.

Going to sleep with nothing on, but the blanketing moonshine through the window.

the summer's in the deep south are not nearly as fun as the one's in the northwest. everything you described is a picture of a seattle summer night... where most of my family is :)

Awww, I'm with ya, couldn't of said it better myself...I went outside for lunch...and sat in my car for about a half hour to defrost from the A/C at work.....burrrrrr.....

They are saying it's about 100 degrees and my son even had golf practice cancelled due to heat index, but I LOVE it!! --- when I get to go out in it of course!!

Oh, I am over in Baltimore, it is considered pretty warm here today. I mowed the yard outside, took my walk. But the heat doesn't bother me much, I am from Los Angeles and used to the heat. I will take warmth any day, over the hideous winters we have here.

Gray skies for months on end.

Cold that never ends.

Going to work in the dark, and coming home in the dark.

Not seeing the sun for weeks on end.

And wearing thermals to be able to function.

I really hate winter here. There is nothing positive about it, an occasional snow day-big whoop. Snow on Easter, ghads, who would have thought you couldn't wear a dress to church on Easter, there was snow on the ground. Easter eggs hunts in the snow.

I will be happy when I move back to L.A. one day.

YES!

Please make it go away. . . .the heat index has been in the three digits for the last two weeks. All my beautiful plants have died since we haven't been getting any rain. Tap water does not do it for them.

I spend time getting ready for work just to go outside and have my hair fall flat and hurry into the building before I start to sweat.

Last week the AC went out at work for two days. There were fans everywhere and we couldn't hear anything. All the equipment gives off heat so you have to sit sideways to keep the PC's from blowing hot air on your legs. (But I have to give kudos to the maintenance crews. As soon as the parts came in, we were up and running with cool air in a couple of hours. Why don't they keep spare parts on hand?)

My car sits in the parking lot for eight to ten hours and the steering wheel is too hot to touch. Gotta get one of those windshield gizmos. :-5

Just two and a half more months of unbearable heat and then we can have a little bearable heat! :D

I am so ready for summer to end. We had an extremely wet winter...............this caused a grasshopper INFESTATION that ate damn near every garden and vine plant we had. My neighbor is a biologist and said because of the VERY wet winter we had the STUPID grasshopper infestation.

I am very sad because I have nothing to can this year.... no fresh tomato, no cucumber into pickles, no fruit, no green beans............NOTHING!!!!!!

Now, I know why there is starvation in the world..............freaking stupid bugs!!!!

If I had to depend on my garden this year..........we would be hungry this winter.

No!! It hasn't even started yet, even though I am sitting here with a red nose today, although that is more from windburn than sunburn.

Long may summer continue, just got in from walking on the beach with my God-daughter, had a good giggle, saw a shooting star and accidentally stepped in a puddle in the dark :wah: Oh its good to be classed as a cool Godmother!

A grasshopper was on my car window when I left for work. He was still there when I got to work. Im concerned his family will be looking for him.

It just depends............was it a child, juvenile or parental unit..................I suspect it was a parental unit that was ready to breed again and just wanted a free ride to new breeding ground.............You know how undiscriminating breeders are........always looking for new blood.
