I'm serious on this. Does drinking tend to make you say stuff you really don't mean or do you tend to say stuff you mean but normally wouldn't have the courage to say?

Red wine unhinges my mouth and I say things I should be keeping secret but it's only red wine that does that. Don't know why.

Me too. The filter comes off. I say stuff I mean, just not always the way I would normally say it..

My experience is that some people will say things while under the influence that they would never say otherwise, others will always be the same. It's not the beverage (wine-beer-liquor), it's the alcohol. I have wine or a beer on a daily basis, but on the few rare times in my life that I have been smashed, I would still say the same as if sober.

I seldom say anything drunk that I wouldn't say sober. I had a friend that would be brutally honest on vodka. To this day, I think she just used it as an excuse to vent to people. It did make for some interesting nights though. :-2:wah:

I was going to say that.

Red, without alcohol - you probably think about a issue before saying it.

with alcohol - you just say it.

OOPs - do tell - how bad was it...?

Ha....the red wine? Pretty bad. Let's just say my mom in law kept refilling my glass and grinning at me.

But that was a while ago. I just had an experience I wanted some clarification on. Thanks you guys. :-6

Alcohol is like sodium pentethol for me. It is also love juice. Makes me funny, affectionate, more straight forward than ever. I am not though, nor ever have been, a mean drunk.

I'm very glad to say that I'm not mean when I've had a few.

I do tend to keep my thoughts to myself though - probably because I was raised with the attitude of keeping things to yourself. It was drummed into me from an early age.

I tend to laugh even more than usual whilst under the influence:wah::wah:

Yes, my mouth does work independantly of my brain when i have had too much, which isnt very often thank god:wah::wah: I still wouldnt say anything intended to be hurtful, but unfortunately my brain gets bored with the lack of use and goes to sleep:wah: i think im being really funny, but it sometimes could be seen as insulting or offensive, people tell me i was just funny though and so far no one has taken offence to anythng i have said. Good job we are used to taking the p out of each other up here:wah:

Drinking switches off the cr4p filter in my brain - I talk rubbish, laugh lots, become (according to me) the funniest and most interesting person in the room! Sadly it also sometimes makes me lose my inhibitions (not that I have that many) but never my memory so I say and do stuff that makes me go 'oh no I didn't really did I' the next day!!!
