Well Our 10 day vacation was a glorious time.
We went to my folks trailer for the weekend, visited and packed it up in the end as they are selling it. Sad but necessary. Fear not the are buying another on a different site.
From there on Monday August 6th we aimed for the lovely state of Montana, on the way we encountered some pretty heavy smoke from forest fires. We hit up the house of mystery vortex again (I had been there back in July) We left there and headed down to Couer d alene Idaho where we spent the nite and shopped some then and the next day, from there it was West to Washington State.
These pics are of the vortex house (Jr Minks)
and Ginko Petrified Forest State Park.
The last is me eating my mangled dinner that we made in the car before we left there and headed to Ellensburg.
It was so windy that day none of the pics were to clear as it was impossible to stand steady.

Ok next set is us in Tacoma now, and we are heading towards a little place called Browns Point but were distracted by the harbor, and oooooo the blackberries on the side of the road.
So we stopped picked berries, walked the beach and took pictures, it was a gorgeous evening.
Oh almost forgot to mention, Jr Minks gets a kick out of flipping rocks over and trying to pick up the little crabs.

This is Browns Point, sorry for the blur in some of the pics some days I just don't get my settings right.
Browns Point is on a barely there little Penninsula in Tacoma. This is a teeny park among lush lovely homes. It has a lighthouse and the grounds are kept up now by the state but there used to be a lighthouse keeper there for many many years. The home remains and kept up. It was a gorgeous place and according to the locals this day was the first warm one in about 10 days so out come all the people to fish, stroll, picnic.
It was lovely, Jr Minks fell in love with the place and vows to retire here.

heheh Chonsi, patience you will get it hehehe
Ok from Browns Point we drove to
Dash State Park, a gorgeous looking park, but we didn't get to spend much time there as the sun was setting and neither of us were inclined to find our way through Tacoma in the dark.

Our first morning in Tacoma, well actually we stayed in the suburbs of Auburn, and Wild Waves Park is in Federal Way but every thing is connected so its all Tacoma to us.
These shots are of the woody, my first ever wooden roller coaster OMG what a riot, they sure are loud and sure do shake you up some good. We loved it. oops and forgot to mention the other one the metal one took us on a full look then 2 corkscrew looks yeehaww

We then went onto the log ride and you see the results of that, then onto the timber axe, now I assure you it was the log ride that caused the water damage to our clothing NOT the second ride ok got it straight all you people hehehehehe

So yeah we loved the roller coaster and on the second trip we took on it we got stuck, this is showing our fear as we sat frozen on the ride of horror for 10 whole minutes. They could talk to us from the entrance but ya know I asked them to bring us pizza and beer and they found NO humor in this whatsoever.
I was just thankful we were not stopped upside down, oh wait woodies do not go upside down :wah:

Later that day we went across the bridge (I forget the name) to a quaint fishing town/touristy walk area called Gig Harbor, and snapped a few pics of the bridge, the town, and the harbor. Again it was a grand day.
The black and white items pic is of a cute little antique and curiosity shop, their entire wall was full of black and white antiques a very cool effect.

We went into Tacoma on Thursday and our first stop was outside of union station, the 2 of us hamming it up with the statue, then it was on to the Glass Museum, this was so cool.
The shots you see are panels suspended over the foot bridge each panel had those awesome pieces of blown glass in them. It was facinating. I have only included a few.

hey thanks guys,
here is some more of the glass sculptures and that upside down funnel thing is the glass blowing furnace area, and all the heat goes up it. Kinda cool and the temp inside was most comfortable as we watched them blow the glass pieces.
Very cool

We did not get into Seattle but pic number 1 is what it looks like as we roared by, the other 3 are of Blaine as we leave the USA and enter Canada, we sat in line for an hour just waiting to cross the border, at least we had the camera to amuse ourselves with

Jealousy is not usually my middle name but you're definitely making me jealous!
Good job I'm off myself at the end of next week or I'd be climbing up the wall

Hi Mel:-4,
Missed you lots. Your pictures are fabulous. I loved Tacoma. Visited years ago when my friends lived there. Glad you had a great time. It's nice spending time with your daughter, isn't it!
