New Inquiry Ordered Into Diana Driver's Blood Tests

PARIS -- A French court has ordered a new investigation into the alleged falsification of alcohol and drug tests on the chauffeur who was driving Diana, Princess of Wales on the night of her fatal car crash.
Henri Paul's parents, Jean and Gisele, reject the original post mortem examination's findings that their son was over the drink-driving limit and had taken medication incompatible with alcohol.
Mr Paul died, along with Princess Diana and her friend Dodi Fayed, when the Mercedes he was driving crashed after they were followed by paparazzi from the Ritz Hotel in Paris almost seven years ago.
Mr Fayed's father, Mohamed, supports the parents' campaign to have Mr Paul's blood samples re-examined.
The Pauls deny that their son was an alcoholic and say the specimens that led to him being blamed cannot have come from his body.
Mr Fayed claims that the accident resulted from a plot involving British intelligence after concerns arose about the relationship between the princess and his son.
The order for the tests, which was not disclosed until yesterday, was made when a French appeals court ruled in June that an investigating magistrate, Corinne Goetzmann, was wrong to dismiss the allegations without further inquiry.
It is understood that in his latest intervention, Mr Fayed is urging the magistrate to stand down or face a legal challenge if she refuses.
The Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Sir John Stevens is conducting an inquiry into the death of the princess at the request of the Coroner to the Queen's Household, Michael Burgess. Sir John is exploring the various conspiracy theories surrounding the deaths and is expected to present his reports next spring.
