We hear in the news about the big decline in home sales and the decline in prices. What's happening in your area? Are homes selling? Have prices come down?

We are holding steady, after a giant leap in prices. In 3.5 years the price on my house nearly doubled.

Prices in Maryland have stabilized, after big increases in home values. Sales are still very active here.

In my area (west side of wichita,ks) They cant build the 3,000 sq ft houses fast enough. They sell for between $300,000 to $500,000 a piece. This has been going on for at least 15-20 yrs and never seems to abate. I cant figure out where everyone is getting their money.

We have a housing shortage for middle class folks. A tornado wiped out the town of Cactus, so those folks are still looking for homes. Then the explosion at Valero brought in hundreds of contractors and such.

Home prices in my area have always been below the national average, I suppose you could say. Lately, the building of homes has increased, exponentially where I'm at. The sales are generally fairly decent, however since the Hurricanes a couple years ago, there are less available, which is why I suppose more are choosing to build.
