I'm SO stinking pissed off! For the last while on my email Classmates has been sending me info on ppl signing my guestbook. I wrote a bulletin on there telling ppl not to sign it due to me not being a Gold Member and to email me at a specific addy I have. So today, I see yet another person signed. so, I thought... I'd better see who these ppl are. So I joined for 15 bucks. Go to my guestbook and NONE of them are ppl I know!!!

WARNING... This is a scam by Classmates to get your money! DON'T DO THIS!!! I'm going to check out where I can gripe about this to the site. It's a rip off! It may be only 15 bucks, but that adds up for this site. I'm going to put it all over the web too.

I feel your pain Rain, I found this out the hard way too...also Reunion.com is a piece of poop too!! I've spent money thinking I will reunite with old friends to find complete strangers searching me AND had a ex-wife of a guy I was dating stalking me....Oh JOY!!

Yes, what it boils down to is ppl working for Classmates go in to the spaces and sign the book then they tease you with it on your email. I've canceled that email thing too! Thanx for the warning about Reunion.

Reunion.com seems as if it is people searching for people with common names or just random search...it gives you the names of the people that searched you out, AFTER you sign up as a paid member, now that I know that game, don't send my money to any of them!!

Exactly! That's what happened to me today at Classmates. I kept thinking these were old friends and I should see who they are. NOT! :-5

I was a Gold Member for awhile, but I let it expire. Not really interested in going "gold" again. I did bump into a couple old female classmates--one fron high school and the other from elementery school---and that was a nice surprise.

Several folks have visited my profile, but after reading your posts, my curiousity ended.

If people truly want to get in touch with another online, it's really not all that hard to do and shouldn't have to cost anything. A first and a last name, even if it's been changed... can easily be used to obtain an address, phone number and email address, unless the individual is involved in some form of law enforcement ( or being on the run from the authorities, I should add. :wah: ) and doesn't wish to be reached.

Im not surprised. Ive been tempted to join because I have mail there too. Ive heard that they annually renew your subscription and its impossible to reach anyone to decline. Havent heard anything good about them. It is cool to visit the old names once in awhile though.

I've tried spam filtering the messages, to no avail. Beats me how they circumvent it. Man, it's annoying!

I had the most horrible experience with a person I didn't even know through one of these "High School" web sites! I was a member of one for several years, with no problems, when all of the sudden I received a nasty email from a swine~hog~piggish :yh_pig looking woman (who resembled a man), asking me how I knew her! I had no clue who, or shall I say WHAT, she was! Then it all became very clear, she wanted to start some crap with me because she had no life! This looser :yh_loser, no good for nothing, low life, SCUM BAG of the earth, totally triffling, white trash, hose~bag was trying to get me to lower myself down to her level (which is in the gutter!). Hog~Jaws (as everyone calls her) tried to claim that I harassed HER! What a LIAR! SHE is the one who sent me several emails, trying to get me to respond to her! I didn't ......of course! I simply laughed at her (and still do)! :yh_rotfl It must really SUCK to be like her.....I can't even imagine! Needless to say, when the crazy biachhhh sent an email remarking about my children, I called the Sheriffs Department to file a report, and was advised to perminantly delete my account! So...... BEWARE, There are some REAL sicko's out there!

I can't remember exactly how long it's been, but I'de say about 2 years ago, or so! I also got some emails from people saying how they supposedly had a crush on me. What's so funny is that they were not even "real" people that went to my school.....fake names I'm sure! I never did find out who they were. What's really sad is that these "High School" web sites are supposed to be for friends to reunite with each other, and WAY too many people are ABUSING them for other purposes! What a shame! I didn't mean any harm to anyone!:yh_peace I really am a very fun loving, happy, person. I saw Rain's post and it just brought up some bad memories from the whole entire experience! When it happened, it just really, really startled and scared me. I though I had buried it long ago...but I guess not. I did learn a thing or two.......now, I do NOT give out too much personal information, and I stay the heck away from those high school web sites! Again, sorry if I "offended" anyone! ........certainly didn't mean too!

Hi Angeleyes! Gosh~hope I didn't offend you eigher! I was just sharing my experience! That's all.........didn't mean anything negative towards anyone on here! I simply wanted to make friends! I see that you like Angels too! That's awesome, me too. I am originally from a little tiney weensey town up in the hills of good ol' West Virginia called Bunker Hill!...... and No~I am not a hill billy! :guitarist Although, hill billies are cool too!
