How many of you like to go camping? Do you rough it?? Do you go to a campground with your camper? Just wondering?

I'm not big on the whole "tenting" it since last summer when I went to a campground where family members stayed in nice campers with a/c and all the luxuries of home.

I was at the campground almost all last summer, I miss it this year!:-1

I haven't been camping in years but I always liked it. As long as I have a lake or a river to bathe in. I'm funny about that. I don't like being unclean. But I do like sleeping in a bag on the ground under the stars and food always tastes better outside.

We went camping three times this year. once at the Greenbrier River. East Lynn lake, and Blue stone lake. We camped in a tent.but we were hardly roughing it.Air mattress, small fridge,a little booze.and anything else we could cram in the van.I like taking the pop up camper.he wanted to take his new boat,or should I say dinghy:yh_giggle to the lakes.

some of the campgrounds have nice shower houses.very clean.

I have camped all my life in some pretty rough places where you dig your own toilet and are on Bear watch all night.

Camped up and down the Mexico's Baja Peninsula. Some beautiful country but you rough it most of the time and I mean rough it. Every now and then we would would get tired of the toilet digging and check in to a hotel or motel and live like humans again.

Camped all across the US and into Canada you really see the beauty of the States when you camp..

I love camping with a RV or a Trailer as you get older the creature comforts are necessary. Let the kid pitch their tents and you sleep in the RV much nicer..;)

I've had some awesome camping trips in the US, both primitive and in areas with facilities. There's something great about sitting by a campfire in the evening toasting marshmallows. I took my tin whistle once and ended up starting a concert of other campers all singing Danny Boy. Grin. Once, a black bear came snuffling at the fire during the night.

One Memorial Weekend somewhere in the Ozark mountains, I saw an enormous RV drive in. It had TV antennas and aircon and every possible mod con. The family emerged, brought out a lawn mower, and mowed the front grass, put out a couple of gnomes and a flower pot.. kid you not!!! But, on reflection, I guess this was their home, and the white picket fence experience just travelled with them.

Happy Labor Day weekend, America!!!

(For some strange reason, I've never been camping in Australia... ?????)

We camped in a tent a few times until my arthritis got too bad that I'd wake up in the morning and have to be lifted to my feet. :wah: Now the rule is no camper, no camping.

This is our new tent. At 24ft long, there's an argument to say it's a bit big for two of us. We call it "Billy Smarts" :D

The events of the last couple of years have put us in a full time "camping" mode. Our "camper" is 36 feet long and has a king sized bed, a 42 inch TV, AC and a sound system that beats the movie theater.

I love camping. I love the smell of the campfire, cooking breakfast over the opne flalme. All that. Of course, the sleeping one the gound part is not so desirable now that I am older *ahem* and campers ARE the way to go camping.:) Give me a camper over tent any day.

I use to love camping, me, my sister and my mum use to camp all summer long.

I think it great as kids.

We had airbeds and sleeping bags with inbuilt pillows.

I really love it and I can't wait to have kids to take :-6

Uncle Kram, your tent looks cool..plenty of room. Every time I have been camping in a tent, it rained, the tent leeked, and you can guess the rest. "Soggy Slumber.":wah:

Now, my husband and I have a fifth wheeler which, after we fixed the kinks, is nice and cozy. We also like to be clean and having a bathroom right next to the bedroom area is convenient, too. I keep it stocked with dishes and pots and pans and silverware and towels, so It's ready for the next trip. Sure beats a motel room.

Here is a pic of our camper at our last camp site in the Smoky Mountains.

Haven't been camping in years, but I love it. The more rustic, the better. A tent, a fire, coffee and the required camp victuals (eggs, bacon, etc.) and I'm very happy. The missus prefers facilities. Bah! That's not camping. I love the smell of wood smoke in my clothes. If the waitress taking our lunch order in the cafe on the way home doesn't find it necessary to stand five feet from my table at all times, I haven't camped thoroughly enough.

Nice Camper!! My brother and his wife had a really nice one too....what spoiled me all last summer.

I love camping for all of the reasons that everyone listed also....The campground that I went to last year a bunch of people owned golf carts too to get around the grounds quickly. That was a lot of fun too....Campers are a very friendly breed most of the time too, made great friends, people I still keep in contact with....love them dearly!:-4

Sorry Kids, I must be the only one who hates camping. Went camping in Ireland twice, and it was horrible. Guess I must just be high maintenance in this area. I love a nice hotel with pools, restaurants, pubs, and room service at your "beck and call."

Acturally, I do wish that I did like camping because I love to sit outside and look for comets through my telescope.

love camping, at all capacities. I haven't been much this year due to dad's poor health, but there is hope for next year as he is improving, and has his heart set on a new site by a creek. I can't wait to get out there again. I have camped in tents, tent trailers, trailers, campers, and motor homes. All have been fun.

The whole point of camping is roughing it. :D

I'm a huge fan of camping. I usually camp with a bunch of bikers, so it's like having the coolest drunk family in the world.

I've only stayed in a mobile home once. I hated it. Haha. Roughing it in an uncomfortable (unless you bring a LOT of pillows and blankets, or an air matress) tent makes you appreciate showers, and YOUR BED the most after a long weekend or week of camping.

How did you happen to have a meat tenderizer along? :wah: Ok, you were hunting for deer?

Coffee, made on a campfire can't be beat.

Well I've never been proper camping before, but my brothers and I back when we were younger would always camp out in our back garden, and tell each other ghost stories and all kinds of great things! Only problem was that there was soooo little space to sleep in, but still it was good fun!

I love camping although I will admit I like the low-key easy camping...where I can drive up to the site and have an out house somewhat nearby lol Although I don't love the camp sites where there are 10 groups crammed into a tiny space. That's really no fun

I don't know if I'll ever be able to camp again. We've been living in our RV for the past 18 months. We just closed on a house today:D and I can hardly wait to stop camping.
