We have had 3 hummingbird feeders up throughout the summer. We converted them to liter bottles because we had so many hummers. I know the hummers are starting to migrate south now BUT the dang bees are swarming the feeders and the hummers can't feed. I am ready to take the feeders down because of the bees and not try to feed the migrating hummers. Any advice?

I feed the hummingbirds. I haven't had a problem with bees so far this year. But I have in the past. It can be a pain. I leave mine up untill the middle of october. I bought a battery powered fly swatter, kind of like a bug zapper that looks like a tennis racket. A few times a day I would go out and zap the bees when they swarmed too bad. New bees always came back, but it made me feel better.:wah:

I have up five feeders, and about this time of year, i'm almost tired of fooling with them.

I noticed that this year was a good year for hummers.they drained my feeders within two days.

We only have the Ruby throated hummers here.

What different kinds do you have where you live?
