CAT SCRATCH FEVER...............a very allergic and systemic reaction to the bacteria in cat's claws.............been there done that............ but not into the hospital.....just very swollen and on benedril and major antibiotics for 2 weeks. It is a nasty infection that takes hold within 8 hours.

Ditto for me after a scratch and a bite, I was ill for a week.
