Me and my kids used ot sit at the table..family time and talk..but they are all busy now and we are never home at the same time..more times than not i find myself in the livingroom in my fav.chair..with the laptop and or the tv on..

We eat at the same time - since I'm the cook. We eat in the living room.

Its just my husband & I - I enjoy cooking - he enjoys eating.

I cook as healthy as I possibly can - he has to have meat, so its a meat and vegetable - very seldom do I make potato anything and very seldom do we eat fast foods. sorry - I guess I'm tired - long winded....

I feel for ya hon. I have always heard that kids will step on you feet when they are young,and on your heart when they get older.

My daughter is still young,and sometimes I get alittle annoyed withher always wanting my attention.I need to be reminded that theese days go by fast.

naw..not sad..just thinking except for sunday dinners the table is kinda getting obsolete..its become more an object for me to play with now..i can set it up all nice and pretty and it pretty much stays that way..gone are the days of slobs...and i like that pretty darn good..

I usually go down to the laundry room and crawl behind the dryer.

My flat is incywincy so we sit where we can with our plates on our laps which is awful.

Am buying a table and chairs and getting rid of a 2 seater sofa so we can all eat at the table together as a famo without the childrens tongues lolling coz they are engrossed in the tv.

We are the same here too Guppy. We used to all eat around the table as a family, but then we all started eating meals at different times because of things, and since then we all now eat in seperate rooms.



I don't really miss it to be honest, though we did have some good conversations there when we were younger.

We eat at the table unless it's Friday and we're having fish and chips, then we slob out in front of the tv.



I like to have the family sat at the table, talking about anything and everything and no tv on. I also think that it's an important time for the younger members of the family to have time with adults without us being distracted by the tv, the computer, work or whatever. And hopefully the kids pick up decent table manners too.

Table manners...........................My middle daughter knows about them and chooses to ignore them. Would rather rip her food with her fingers then cut with the knife I give her every meal time. Licking the plate is also one of those things that she prefers to do then not.

Arrrggghhh, all done when I am not looking mostly. Still, we are determined to fix all that when we get the table and chairs....................

I know some people think I'm weird with my slight obsession over table manners but in my experience if you can eat a meal without embarrassing yourself you can usually handle most social occasions.

LOLLLLLLLL, so true. I am trying very hard with my middle daughter, but she is an entity of her own (is that the right saying?)

we always eat at the table, with a 4 and 6 year old you have to keep them contained! :wah:

Although ideally I wish we could eat outside all the time so I could just hose everything down once they get through with it! :wah:

We eat at the table the majority of the time.

All my childhood, and into my marriage it was at the table. Since the divorce and departure of my oldest daughter, it's wherever the mood moves me, some days it's nice that Jr Minks and I pull up little TV tables and watch TV while we eat, other times when it's just myself, it's usually at the puter. Or I beg of my friends and family to take me in hehehehe

As a child we always ate at the table and the TV wasn't allowed to be on..

Maybe I now eat in front of the TV as rebelling. Same as having the refrigerator door open as long I want..

yep us to I think when we got our first color TV we got to eat a meal in front of it.

Yeah I think I rebel too now sitting infront of the tube with Jr Minks and eating hehehe
