A bit of a turn

My shoulder has been painful for the last 10 months and has failed to respond to physiotherapy. It was decided at the local hospital to inject a steroid into the joint to reduce the inflammation caused by "Impingement".

I've had steroid injections before in both elbows to cure "Tennis Elbow" even though I've never played it.

I was told I'd have to rest for 2 days so Lee drove me to the hospital. Everything was tickety-boo until around 2 minutes after the injection. I very quickly felt very odd and just passed out. When I came round the confusion was redolent of my stirring after Januarys knee operation.

I felt dizzy and nauseous and after half an hour was no better, in fact I felt extremely unwell. There was a bit of a panic and in the end I was taken by Ambulance to another Hospital, but not before throwing up. On arrival at the other Hospital, I threw up again, then again later while the Doc was examining me. I felt as ill as I'd ever been and was only semi-concious. I was given an anti sickness injection and put on a saline drip. I wondered how it was going to end, but after a couple of hours, a modicum of improvement was signalled by the cracking of a joke. Krammy was back in the land of the living. Lee thought I'd popped my cloggs when it first happend. They kept me there for a while under observation and did some blood tests before sending me on my way. I do like to make a drama out of a crisis, so we headed back to mine where I could milk it in stlyle. Still feel a bit odd on occasions though.

Sweetie you milk that for all it's worth, that had to be so scarry, so did they dub it an allergic reaction? And why couldnt one hospital handle your problem? Hope all is well

Hope all is well They said it was an "adverse reaction" and not an "allergic reaction" but I don't fancy another steroid injection much. If this doesn't work, they might remove part of the bone on my shoulder. Man, I feel old.
