only invested in my kids thus far.

WOW ML, do some research on the net, talk to your folks maybe they have some ideas. I would bet our Lon could give you some advise.

I'd say you'd need maybe £5000 to give it a try and not have the associated costs in your time and the broker fixed charges be large in comparison to what you're doing but maybe someone here knows how to minimize those.

Have a lok at ISA'a. Stocks and shares one will get you started from as little as £50 per month. Unless you really want to buy your own shares pooled funds are your best bet. There are literally hundreds of different funds-go for a spread of investment risk.
