yes been, no did not buy.
My folks did go, yes they did buy. We have had the timeshare for almost 27 years now without a day of regret.
Been used by us all usually when I go in sept to the mountains, that is to our timeshare. It's lovely.
It's been used in mexico a few times, hawaii, and all throughout california as well. Nobody has crossed the ocean yet to use it but I am sure down the road we will.

I've been to one presentation and we didn't buy. Oddly enough when I was telemarketing, that was one of the prizes offered. I've heard a lot of unhappy things about them but there must be something to them or they wouldn't still be around.
What about you, Lon? Do you own a timeshare?

I went to one in Hawai to qualify for some free tours etc. I was there with friends, hubby didn't go which lets you out normally so I fibbed and said I was widowed.
The costs were astronomical but Hawai is overpriced anyway, I got out of after 30 mins. because the sales gal realized I wasn't interested.
We used to have a timeshare in Mexico, it seemed to be good value when we considered four of us (two kids) but with only two it wasn't worth it. The costs of the maintenance doubled after 5 years, and the Canadian $ was down, so after using a couple of weeks in England I had banked (through RCI which is also very expensive now).. I let it go... wasn't worth paying the mtc. We could get sell offs cheaper than a week would cost us through the timeshare.
Right now, I don't think there are as many sell offs, but I still wouldn't recommend a timeshare.

No-----I don't have one and would not buy one. They are too expensive for what you get. You can pick resales up cheap on the net instead of paying the full bore initial price. 50 to 65% discounts.
