Just do it for yourself, life's way too short hon just ask him if he wants to go for a drink sometime and leave it open,

if he's interested you'll know.

Good luck :-6

Just ask him - he should be flattered.

I say go for it, and if you need me to, I'll call him up and tell him you like him....that's good and all grown up of me, isn't it???:wah::wah:

Age is relative. It's what you have in common (and what you don't) that matters.

I liked your idea of sending him flowers. :) That's sharp. Nothing too expensive or fancy though at first. Middle ground.

As for where to go, that festival thing sounds good. Or you're in CA right? Why not a museum or an art gallery exhibit? The zoo? Google "creative dates" or "dating ideas" and see what comes up. You might find some good ones.

When you feel pressured to make the date special, remember that it's your personality that does that. ;) Not so much the place you go.

Definitely ask this man out. You'll probably regret it if you don't.

My husband is 10 years older than me, if he was 20 years older I'd still want to be with - just less music in common that's all!!

Go for it, keep it simple and I'm sure he'd be chuffed that someone younger than him finds him attractive (can't you guess who'd love a toy boy!!!):sneaky:

Ok IP, here's the prespective from a 60+ year old man. (for what it's worth) If you're just looking for some fun & having a good time then ask him out, he'll be flattered no matter how you do it. Start off easy by just asking him to go get a coffee. And see if you click, & where it goes from there. If it goes good have some fun. However, if you are even contemplating it to possibly turn into a long term serious relationship, then you really need to rethink it. Because contrary to what the romantics say (& I'm a romantic myself, but now also a realistic) age does make a difference. At 61 pushing 62, and you only 40 for now that's fine. But how about in 10 years from now, when you're 50 & he's "72"!!!? Or 60 & "82"? It's something to really think hard about, at 60 you'd still be near your prime, & him ???? So. . . . . .

The whole thing sounds good for both of you. You're asking him if he'd like to go out with you somewhere, he's got no grounds for jumping to any conclusions at all. Either he'll be pleased at the idea or he won't. You can't lose unless you chicken out of asking.

Presumably he knows who you are so you've some sort of common acquaintance already?

No IP, you have that in reverse. :) What I said was, if "you" are just looking for fun & think he would be, then by all means go for it & ask him out. "He" would be flattered any way you asked him!!!

But I also mentioned, if you even had the slighest thought of him as possibly being a "lifetime" relationship or commitment, then "age" is a definate concern. Your past relationship, you were younger, "he" was younger, however, in 10 years from now it would have been the same issue. You 50, him 68! Most men upto about 70, are pretty good, but it seems after 70, many men can't keep up with them 50 year ol wimmin!! So just trying to remind you to keep that in mind. If you're not interested in a long term relationship, then forget what was just said! ;)

I would have to agree with Cars

I stated, ask him out for fun & he would be flatterd

As far as a long term relationship - think long & hard before any commitment in regards with the age difference, the age gap will make a difference, no doubt about it..
