Good Morning Everybody!
Well, it's morning for me anyway.

7:50am
The sun is comming up.:-6
Has anyone out there been up all night cooking like me?
I'm having Thanksgiving dinner at my house again this year.
So far I have made macaroni salad, deviled eggs,Yams, a peach and a cherry pie. I bought my turkey smoked and pre cooked, so all I have to do is warm it in the oven. Later I will put on the ham. and make mashed potatoes and dressing. My rolls are rising as I speek.
Am I forgetting anything?
Everybody here is invited. Dinner is around 4pm. Come on over and pull up a chair and grab a turkey leg.
Just don't mind me, I'll be asleep on the couch.:wah:

I'm trying to push myself to get started. I've been sick the last few days. All I seem to do is sleep and sweat. We're having a turkey dinner today if it kills me.

Lisa, dinner sounds like it is starting out fine. I am not starting until noon, I only got a turkey breast with all the fixing. I don't like alot of leftovers.....

Save Room
As meals go, Thanksgiving dinner
Is always a feast--a five star winner.
Here comes the salad, dressed just right,
The golden brown turkey--a savory delight;
The stuffing now, and then the gravy,
The jello mold, all wiggly and wavy.
Take some cranberry sauce and candied yams;
Is there room for fresh made rolls and jams?
More dishes tempt me; ah, but I
Must save some room for pumpkin pie!

Sorry to hear your feeling bad Peg.
Hope you feel better soon.
Maybe your hubby and the kids will help out. Or maybe they will just get in the way like mine does!:wah:
Has flu season started in your area already?
I still need to get my flu shot. I don't like needles.
The weather yesterday was so nice. 74* I had all my windows open,an ran around in shorts an a t-shirt all day.
Now a cold front is moving in,and it's sleeting.
But, I enjoyed it while it lasted.
Have a Happy Thansgiving Peg !
Try not to over do it !

I love leftovers!
It means I don't have to cook for a few days.:sneaky:
I make them fend for themselves. Well, the hubby anyway. I still have to nuke my daughters leftovers.:wah:
I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving too!

Hubby is at work. Last night, he did break up bread for the stuffing. So, my turkey is stuffed and in the oven. I'll just pace myself now. The eggs are boiled so after this break, I'll make devilled eggs, take a break, peel and cut potatoes, take a break, etc. I can't wait to smell the turkey roasting soon!

Well I do need to know if you are a commie first. Is it going to be like a group commie meeting after dinner or just a regular dinner ?

Pinko is a derogatory term for a person regarded as sympathetic to Communism, though not necessarily a Communist Party member. The term has its origins in the notion that pink is a lighter shade of red, the color associated with communism; thus pink could be thought of as a "lighter form of communism" promoted by mere supporters of socialism who weren't, themselves, "card-carrying" communists.

Peg...I hope you feel better soon!:-4
Lisa...I should be there in about 3 hours....I am so impressed with all of you that make big dinners...I'm a spoiled brat and only am responsible for making the string bean casserole, and that is optional at that....AND I'm procrastinating doing that ONE measly item!! How sad is that????
I have been busy today, just not cooking...
And I'm with Lisa on the Glade Freshner, great IDEA!!--nothing like the smell of a roasting turkey....yummmm....

Hillbillies? I'll fit right in! You live in a beautiful area of the state.
Carla? When you get here, we'll eat here to hold us over until we get to Lisa's. I must be feeling better. The smell of the turkey is sooooooo good.

I hope you shook it off Peg, today's a celebration day and you need to be right for it.
Have fun, both.
