Is anyone here going to be on their own for christmas?

I might be, will find out for sure pretty soon, and i'm really not looking forward to it...i hate being alone at any time :-1

Well i wasn't going to post it on here but i'm sure i know you all enough by now.

Hubby might be getting sent ti iraq AGAIN and if he does go then he's going just before christmas. :-5

I know it's his job and all but he chose to come here, cos it's a none deployable post, so it was like a 2 year break from that.

So to me, that's like a contract has been broken if they send him

I am so sorry to hear this sad news, and it's also sadder around a holiday. I hope that hubby will be home for Christmas. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. If not, you'll just have to spend a lot more time in the FG and CZ. When will you know for sure?

Hey thanks for the compliment on my critters, I was just in the mood for some bugs hehehehe I kinda like bugs.

Well i should know within a couple of weeks at the most, cos it's only about 4 weeks till the date that is set.

You know, i just realised how selfish i sound, going on about me being alone

Of course i was thinking about my husband being stuck out there for Xmas, it's bound to be A LOT harder for him than it will be for me

You're not being selfish Kinks....It's hard being apart for everyone. Stay strong and try not to worry too much....I know that's hard to do.

I hope that you get to spend xmas with your hubby kinks, I am single and I live by myself so xmas alone is not something that bothers me, as I always spend it at my family home with the ma and the sister anyway, as its kinda our tradition. Though it will be nice to get to play with toys again whenever I have kids (hopefully at least one boy!), men eh? We never grow up! :-6

I know what you mean about you men never growing up, my hubby was walking round the toy shop picking up big remote control hellicopters saying " Dylan just told me he want's this for christmas" but said it with that look on his face :sneaky: :wah:

Yep that sounds like me in about 10 years I would imagine. Though I think my kids are really gonna love a train set, some Scaletrix cars, Mechano, and lots of robot type things that will jump around and do things. Well they better if they know what's good for them. :wah:

Dam kinks what a bummer!!! and here was i moaning cos i was panicking it was just gonna be me an hubs for christmas dinner when i usually have a houseful! I do hope he doesnt have to be over there for christmas , although of course would be better if he didnt have to go at all:-4:-4

Kinks depends what you mean by alone,I was alone for quite a few years when I split from first hubby,I had my two little boys ,but come Christmas night,they where i bed and I was alone,].Noy anymore I met my man,never give up.

I think we all need to remind ourselves that a good Chrismas holiday doesn't mean a perfect Christmas holiday. We all have to look at our life situations this year, count our blessings, and go from there. We all are not going to celebrate the holidays like they show on TV and Christmas cards. We all have memories, and we all will miss the loved ones who will not be able to be with us on that day. We all will just wake up on Christmas morning and hug those who are there, share tokens of our love, maybe go to a Christmas service, and share a meal. It may be just another day, but this is a day to count our blessings, pray for peace, and just enjoy the essence of the season. Make happy Christmas memories for your children by laughing with them. singing with them, decorating with them, baking with them.....things like that.

Anyone who is truly alone for Christmas is never truly alone. All they have to do is reach out to others. Maybe, we all need to do that.
