My daughter wanted her husband home from Iraq soooo bad she pulled an "I'm crazy thing" She did in fact get diagnosed as bi-polar -she is NOT. She really convinced them though. Do you want to talk about "Bite yourself in the ASS?" She joined the Navy and did not disclose..............She is going to get a dishonorable discharge from boot camp..................for lying about her psych eval!!!!!
I have very littlec ompassion for her. I do have MUCH pride for the way she handled the past 2 weeks of stress and never claimed a psych thing. Maybe she is growing up. There is never much gain for not pulling boot straps up.

i am really curious to know what symtoms she used to get that diagnoses..
bi-polar is on the axis of schitzophrenia as well...often bipolars cross that line and back..with dillusional thoughts..paranoia..exagerations to their person and their accomplishments, exreme jealousy..controlling behaviors..and so forth, spending sprees..out of control behavior..to much or too little sleep depending on if they are manic or depressed..they also often show a lack of empathy for others..unable to emphathize with other people's feelings....she would have had to use more than depression to get that..alot of the time ocd occur concurrently..very rarely does one diagnoses cover the complete mental disorder..the health field just uses the one that covers the majority of presenting symptoms...at that time..
i know someone else who tried that stunt and ended up in the state mental institute..they apparently studied to well...his intent was to get mental disability..he just did it way to well...

How does her saying that she is bi-polar get her husband back from Iraq.

Well sounds like she needs some form of help, she's obviously suffering with something to go to such extremes...Was her thoughts that by doing this hubby would have to come home and look after her???
Very sad nvalleyvee and I hope she gets the help she needs:(
Good luck to you and your family:):-6

We open and close our doors blindly at times. I hope she finds value in this lesson as opposed to letting it spiral downwards.

Not knowing fully her details, nor the symptoms and reasoning behind diagnosis - and the fact I am not qualified, I would not comment on specific medical decisions here.
However it does seem that she is crying out for help - something that should NEVER be ignored.
I am sorry to here about her problems, and sincerely hope that she receives the 'correct' help that she obviously is in need of :-4

WooHoo Guppy. She nailed the diagnosis from the internet. What a very bad decision she made. It will now follow her for her life. What is that quote? " Ohh what a tangled web we weave........when first we practice to deceive."
Yes she is my daughterbut at 23 she noe really has to prove her inner self to herself. It will be a hard row to hoe.
