Humans seem to be uneasy unless they know, at all times, their dog's age translated into human terms.

For the children, the importance of this knowledge is being able to remark aloud about the breath of someone older than their babysitter.

The motivation for adults is probably that they do not want to think of themselves as someone who would have a fourteen year old put to sleep because of uncontrolled flatulence.

honestly..that is funny and sad..people put their pets to sleep all the time when they cant control their bowells anymore..could you imagine putting your granny to sleep for the very same reason? yikes..

We had one dog euthanized when she was covered in benign tumour at her joints and had trouble getting around anymore. My grandfather, who had undergone numerous hip replacements, had to have a leg amputated due to poor circulation, and had been in the long term care wing of the hospital for a few years actually looked at her enviously when he heard we were putting her to sleep.



At that point I made up my mind how I felt about euthanasia. For flatulence, though, maybe putting beano in their dog food would help. LOL

Some severe cases of offending flatulence have been known to euthanize innocents.

So whats the right thing here ?
