We've been fake for years.
Now you mention it, I'm sure youngest daughter will be wanting to get it out of the loft soon.

Chezzie!! Scrappy is precious! ...those eyes melted my heart! awwww:-4
I have a fake tree for about the 3rd or 4th year now...we used to go as a family and cut down trees at the same christmas tree farm for about 10 years, they went out of business...and unfortunately Life got too hectic, just seems easier to pull the tree out of a box, and saves a few bucks. I prefer a real tree though.

I love our family tradition when it comes to Christmas trees. We always leave it to mid December, then we takes the kids to a Christmas Tree farm where we spend a few hours walking though the land looking for our special tree for the year.
When we find it we have a flask of tea and some snacks and then take photos of the family around the tree. Then we call one of the workers who comes over and cuts it down for us right there. He brings it back puts it in the back of the car for us. We then head home, put it up and decorate it right away.
The fresh pine smell lasts right through Christmas and the tree never looses a needle. We always laugh at my wife as each year without fail she says: ‘This is the nicest tree we ever had’.

We have an artificial tree. There are no Christmas tree farms around here, and the fresh ones you can buy don't look very good.

Thats so nice Mike, sounds truly precious but all I could think of all the way through was Clark Griswold from national lampoon's christmas vacation when they go and buy the tree and its too big lol...
One of my fav lines is "Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead? "
I love that film:-4

I have to tell you a funny story that happened to a friend of mine.
Last year he went to visit his friend at Christmas, and noticed that his tree looked kind of funny. It went right up to the ceiling of the room, but did not come to a point, it was just kind of flat right across the top.
So he asked, what happened to your tree?
The guy replied, ‘oh the damn thing was too big so I had to cut it’
My friend asked ‘well why didn’t you cut some off of the bottom of the tree?’
The guy just looks at him blankly, then finally says ‘now you come over here with your great fecken idea….’
