was just on tv, singing very nasally, either she had a nosejob and its affected her singing or she had a bad cold. She also looked like she had put on quite a bit of weight.I know she's been ill but i was surprised to see her.

why does Dani minogue look about 10 years older than me when she's 15 years younger?

sorry i wasn't laughing at you.Just at what kylie minogues face would look like if she heard that someone didn't know who she was.

She's a very famous singer, her sister less so.

I have to say that I think Kylie looks better with a bit of a curve on her. Also I am a bit of a closet X-factor watcher this year, and undoubtedly Rhydian was the best of the bunch by a long way in terms of being a talent, but Leon had a lot of support, and also Rhydian's duet wasn't great with that opera woman, but Leon and Kylie really nailed that last number. Still your man will still have a career I am sure, as he is very talented.

Rydian is surely good enough to go the distance with his voice, whereas Leon needs a little help up the ladder.

Personally, I thought Leon sung off key but hey what do I know?

No you are right he did, but you know, this was a popularity contest as well as a talent show, its pop music after all.

I completely respect Kylie, specially after fighting her illness, but what the hell was she wearing last night on the X-factor. She looked fecken terrible.

I can’t believe Rydion did not win, that is a mistake. In fairness, last night was the first time I heard any kind of vocal range out of Leon and for once I thought he was good, but not even close to Rydion.

I hope Rydion cuts a CD anyway, I would buy it.

It just said on the news that there was only 1 per cent oof the votes in it.

I wonder if it is because Rhydian always said he wanted to do musical theatre and has been offered something? In which case he could not win the xfactor because it would take too much time away from such a project?

Maybe, but would the public vote alone have decided that? If I voted, I would vote for the person I thought was the best, and not give much thought as to his/her future projects.

Hi Theia -

I meant if the vote was rigged - that is it didn't matterwho the public voted for, the programme actually chose the winner - it wouldn't be the first time something like that happened.

Hiya, Lemon...yes, that's the way my thoughts were going too. Can anyone really have much faith in these phone line contests, competitions etc after the recent scandals?

Do you know it happens with postal competitions as well?

I used to enter a lot of the women's magazine competitions - a lottery really - you know the type, send your name on a postcard for the prize.

But then I started noticing that if I won, I would receive the prize before the draw date - it was usually the end of the month. And then, having won the prize, I would notice that the prize was then offered in other magazines (I'm talking about prize draws via companies exterior to the magazine itself), and i got rather suspicious.

No, I didn't know that...far too naive :-5

But tell me, why does this happen, be it in talent competitions, or in magazines? Is it just to make more money?

well, you know that the phone votes make money, even if the person's vote doesn't get through, once they dial the number it costs 20p per go, or whatever the rate is.

As for the postal competitions, its a way of building a database of names and addresses of people who might be interested in the product which was the prize.Suppose the prize was a basket of goodies for bathing with - shampoo, bath oil, you know the sort of thing.Well, if you don't win, you start getting letters from cosmetic companies "sorry you didn't win, but you may be interested in our new range of bath oils.............blah blah".

I had a quick look round the internet - just google "Rhydian lost" or other similar.

Many people are complaining that they could not get through to vote for rhydian - the lines were constantly engaged.

However someone also claims that they could not get through on their landline, but calling the same number on their cell mobile phone, they could get through - of course the charges for this are higher than for a landline.

Thanks, I'll go have a look. I've been reading at an entertainment forum and so many people are posting that there was much more time allowed to vote for Leon than there was for Rhydian, and, like you said, when they tried to call, they couldn't get through. I'll pm you the name of the forum.

Well I thought Kylie was great, to come back like she has from whats shes gone through, I applaud her and no I didnt like her outfit but hey the womans just gone through Breast Cancer so if it made her feel good its ok for me.

Also I think Danni looked fabulous last night and I wanted Leon to win. Rhydion is a better singer and he will have a fab career but I prefer Leon as a total package. I cried lots this morning when I watched it back as I couldnt watch last night.

and what do you think of the winner's song - have to admit, it did not make much of an impression on me, cannot even remember it this morning, but no doubt it will get to number one nayway.

They should make a single out of the song by the really awful first round losers, that was the best bit of the show if you ask me.

I have to say i thought Leon was good last night but i think even he was shocked that he won.

I can't wait for Rhydian to bring out a c.d. i would definetly buy it.

But I also think he will go big with his career in theatre or the like :-4

Breaking news is that offcom is going to investigate the voting as so many people have complained they could not get through - apparently the majority of these were in support of Rhydian.

But I doubt anything will happen, ITV has just amde a statement and said that in their opinion there were no problems.
