I've never understood why some kids are afraid of the Claus. I remember my cousin whom I grew up with, was. She'd cry and scream and scramble to get off Santa's lap. I, on the other hand, was mesmerized by Santa. Even now I remember how magical it was to talk to Santa. How many people here remember that kind of magic from when they were kids?? :) I wish there were some way of capturing that same magic as an adult; even for just one day. It sucks being jaded.

My eldest daughter has a fear of grown ups dressed up. She finds it freakish at nearly 10 years old but when smaller was petrified, my youngest loves them though..My eldest daughter wouldnt even join in a noddy tea-party at a Butlins resort, she sat out while her lil sis hugged and kissed them all....Guess we all have quirks.

It's probably a good thing I don't have children then because I was laughing at most of these photos. If the kids are that terrified, why would the parents stand in line for probably a fairly lengthy period of time after dressing their kid up only to stand there watching while the child is screaming like that?

Sorry, but that's still cracking me up.:o

Here's brave little me enjoying Santa last century:

I once let Santa into the house to see my son. It was a Round Table thing and Santa was totally out of his face, a fact that I hadn't appreciated until he fell onto my son. It's the only time I've ever sworn at Santa, yet despite this, I still got Buckaroo.

I was one of those kids. There's a picture somewhere of me trying to make a mad dash out of Santa's lap. :wah:
