It's 9:15 AM on the 26th, and it's my last day of chemo treatment. I will be here for about 4 hours as various chemicals are injected into my left arm. I am sitting in a chair very similar to those in a women's beauty salon, more like a recliner actually. There are 20 similar chairs around this L shaped room , but only two of us presently under treatment. They have just brought me some apple juice and coffee which is much appreciated as I ate a very light breakfast this AM. Every 15 minutes or so, a nurse will come by and ask me if I feel any nausea or anxiety. Actually, I feel quite well and am enjoyng being pampered. The main drug that is being administered is called Rituxan and is used to control antibodies. The main concern through the last 8 days of chemo is to be careful of not developing an infection or getting a cold. My white cell count is greatly lowered due to the drugs, however, at the end of this session they will administer another drug that will bring my white cell count up to normal. Ain't modern medicine wonderful?

Crikey man here is wishing you well. I remember the treatments my father in law endured, I don't wish it on anyone.

You are so correct modern medicine as come a long way with Cancer treatments. No more nausea. They almost have the hair falling out thing fixed but not totally.

The group setting is great for patient you aren't so isolated, and can communicate with others while you get your treatment.

I'm glad you've found a way to view the process that makes it easier. Health is the best Christmas present anyone can receive.

I'm back home now and feeling fine. in fact, tomorrow I will be playing my usual game of tennis. I really expected to feel something, nausea, headache, flushing, chills, hair loss or at least one of the many possible side effects of chemo that some people suffer. But in my case, nada. Other than this whole process being a bit inconvenient in what I would have otherwise been doing, it's been a piece of cake. Thanks to all for the positive comments. I am not a religious person in the slightest, but have had Catholic friends that have been lighting candles for me, Buddhist friends with their prayer beads, Evangelical friends with their prayers and Jewish friends with their prayers as well. Perhaps all this Interdemoninational prayer activity worked.
