The Twelfth Day of Christmas

Today is 6 January, in Australia. So we've finally reached the twelfth day of Christmas, the end of the Christmas season, Twelfth Night, the feast of the Epiphany, end of Saturnalia, Yule etc, la fête des Rois, Misrule, Topsy Turvy. Whatever. The day to take down the Chrissie decorations. The day when the king becomes the page, the milkmaid the queen..........

The first becomes last and the last first...

The fool rules...

Who should be FG moderators for this wickedly auspicious feast???????

Oh the Fool has a very noble place in our culture, Theia. The wise fool!! The jester - absolutely no reference intended to anyone here calling himself by that name - was the intelligent and wacky, risk-taking commentator on court politics. The notion even pops up in the Bible in reference to that bloke some of us try to follow. The clown.

That's a good point, Pammie...and I'm also now reminded of the Fool in the Tarot, one of my favourite cards...s/he lives in the moment, free from care and truly alive.
