Singer Amy Winehouse has been admitted into rehab in a battle to kick her addiction to drugs.

A statement from her record company, Universal said she entered the facility "after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors".

A film of the singer apparently smoking a crack pipe emerged earlier this week.

Earlier, Ms Winehouse's father admitted he asked for his London-based daughter to be sectioned under the Mental Health Act to help her stop taking drugs.

But Mitch Winehouse told radio station BBC London 94.9 he had been told she could not be sectioned because she was not at risk of hurting herself.

Universal said the star had entered the rehab clinic "to continue her ongoing recovery against drug addiction".

I like her. I hope it works. i'm tired of seeing the news post nothing but bad about her.

Its about time she like Brittney is on a collision course. I hope she can kick the drugs she is talented.

Her voice is truly amazing, I think her and the Husband are a bad influence on each other. Hes now in jail and now shes in rehab...Lets hope she gets clean and with a clear head can see how destructive her life with him is.

One thing is for sure. She will or she wont.

It must be tough to have an addiction and the means to support the addiction.

What I mean is a person of lesser means either learns to use within their budget or they often end up turning to crime if they cant hold a job.

To have the resources to feed the addiction without the responsibility of a 9-5 and living in an environment (music business) that looks the other way when your in trouble as long as $ are involved and wealth is getting spread around would be dangerous for that person.

They were spending £500 a day on herion and crack.........thats obscene.

She turned up to his court hearing off her head and with needle marks up her arms. Glad shes trying to get sorted as if she doesnt they say she could be dead in 3 months.
