helen wrote: HI Anyone reading this.

I wanted to join this forum to make new pals and just talk to folks.

I'm in my 40's, live in a rural location, don't drive and therefore I'm stuck in the house every night.

I'm learning to drive yet again - and this time I hope I see it through and pass my test. I'm so envious (not in a bad way) of everyone who can get in a car and drive it. That's real freedom and independence.

I would like to talk to other people who are perhaps in a similar position to myself.

I'm a jock living in England, female, divorced, a mum, a hard worker, like a laugh (but none of those sick jokes). I'm quite opinionated - but don't force what I feel on others.

As this is my first time as a member of a discussion forum - please be gentle with me if I'm not quite getting the theme of it.

I look forward to hearing from some of you and hopefully having some 'pen e pals' (is there such a thing).

Best wishes and Kind Regards to all of you

Helen :driving:

Helen, I lived in a rural location for three years.. I loved it, but it can be isolating. It is nice to be able to come and go as you please. You venture out into civilization, and then appreciate coming homr to tranquility even more. So I hope you pass your test. That will be great for you! Good Luck

Hi Helen. Welcome to the garden. Everything that you are asking for is here. Don't worry about being opinionated because you aren't the only one that is. Happy posting and enjoy your stay.

I'm thrilled to bits with all the lovely replies and welcomes I've had. I'm looking forward to making lots of friendships on this site. I came across it by accident - but I'm so glad I did.

Look forward to talking to you again when I've worked out properly how this site works (I'm not that great on computers).

HelenYou'll do ok Helen. They will give you a dig out if and when you need it.

I've been up around Scotland & England online that is. But the Irish have let me down. Its no wonder they are still singing 'There'll aways be an England'.
