Lets see a show of hands.
Do you play ?
Regularly ?
Occasionally ?
Scratch off ?
I play when I remember, probably 3-5 times a year. If I get a scratch off Ill scratch one # then let it sit there for a week then scratch another and wait.
When I get my lotto ticket I will wait for weeks before I check. I guess I like the illusion that its possible I may have won.

Our family used to play a few years ago, and whilst we did win occasionally, it was always only about £10 or £20, nothing bigger sadly. I think we eventually realised that it was a waste, and the money could go on better things and then stopped soon after.

Sorry Helen, I just cannot understand people who say, what you are saying. I certainly would accept a huge win on the Lottery. I would use sufficient for my immediate relatives, and oursleves so that we would be comfortable for the rest of our lives. I would give a certain amount to my friends, the remainder I would use to benefit people generally - something like building first-time-buyers homes (non profit making), sponsoring a scan for a hospital, even building a cancer wing with all the machinery etc.
No I would not be stumped for finding use for a big lottery win.
I suppose this is why, even though I have always done the lottery, the most I have ever won has been a few £10s and one of about £40 !!!! Still it goes to 'good causes' dunnit.

We visited Las Vegas years ago and I saw keno cards everywhere. I asked the lady at the keno counter "Excuse me. How do you play keno, anyway?"
"Oh, you play it just like the lottery."
"Oh. Okay. Thanks. ............ ............. .............. Excuse me. How do you play the lottery?" :-2

hi gill,
i think that was an initial reaction to be honest, i cant even contemplate 95 million. thats why they give you legal advisors etc, come to terms with it.
i thought i was doing pretty well, getting the wages i get in the summer, no bills, food in the cupboards, new clothes, a month in florida and still enough left for me new pc and digital camera. :wah:
i just cant ever imagine having that amount of money but its not going to stop me buying a ticket for the first time !! and the first thing on the agenda would be a meet up of the foc'ers, all expenses paid.:-4

I understand this. I dont want that much money. I know myself well enough to know I wouldnt do well.
And more importantly its not what I need.
