Whats really sad too, is that obviously neither men ever had visitors, and the dead man was not missed by anyone like family/friends.

Oh god, thats macabre. A dead body lying on the sofa for 5 years, nightmarish. There was a case in Ireland a few years ago with a brother and 2 sisters who all lived together until elderly age, when one of the sisters died in her bed, they left her lying in the bed for years and she wasn't found until someone came into the house years and years later, how horrible, sad, and ghoulish as well.

I don't know how you do that unless you have lost your sense of smell at some point it must have been awful. They just noticed the smell after 5 year?? I would think by then it was gone and the body would be a mummified. Sad no visitors for 5 years. :(

My hubby and I have had this conversation - he thinks after 6 months there'd be no smell from the body. I imagine that if keeping a body on the sofa is your idea of normal personal hygiene wouldn't be top of your to-do list and I expect that the smell is just filth. Yuck!

Sure it smells but that pales in comparison to the warm fuzzy feeling you get when you come home after a long day at work.

Priceless !
