The Bridge
Nomad's Rating :
Its a documentary.
The setting is the Golden Gate Bridge.
As people jump from the bridge in the final act of their lives its caught on tape.
Some are saved, some are talked off the edge and others are pulled unwillingly but watching the ones that jump will sober your mind and turn your gut inside out.

It's in theaters? Is there any commentary or attempt at background information?

Its on DVD.
There is comprehensive film footage coupled with history on jumpers at that bridge. They speak with some of the families that were affected by the suicides and they provide some background on what led up to the incidents.
They speak with authorities charged with security and they get reactions from people that have witnessed the tragedy unfold.
I gotta tell you its quite shocking to watch someone take their own life but its not sensationalized. Rather its quite thought provoking and it will make you think about your own life in one way or another.

This thread brings to mind the video footage of the Twin Towers tragedy in NY and all the "specks" falling. Those "specks" were people falling to their deaths. We witnessed the last moments of their lives.
Trully heart-wrenching......and unforgettable.

Nomad, why would you want to watch a film, where people really die? Go outside into your winter wonderland, take a deep breath, look up into the sky, and be thankful you live.

I saw it awhile back Nomad and it is amazing just how many people jump or attempt to jump. I had no idea about this at all and was a bit troubled at the fact their death were filmed. It was done well and I would only recommend it to those who would understand its content. It is not for the faint of heart.
