okay ... on a more ... no an ever so slightly more serious note ...

i know i have done and said things on FG in a previous life which were childish silly and plain crazy ... i believe i have apologised for that but in case anyone here missed it ... I APOLOGISE FOR ALL MY PAST SINS HERE ON FG...

so i have been around the block a few times and am well aware that some people here don't like me ... hey who among us is loved by every single person we encounter in our lives? ... i've been called a few names ... the latest being "a creature" on another thread but i'm cool with that too and have no intention of bad mouthing anyone in return ...

during my time here on FG i have not said much about my background as i do not believe that it is necessary on a social forum to do so... in public anyway ...

however because i have always fooled about here ... many members who do not lknow me probably think that i am a very shallow person ... just a flirt ...

for the record ... and i am not mentioning this to impress anyone ... but simply to state the truth about myself for anyone who might care to listen ...

i have a university education ... i speak three languages fluently ... i am a published writer and poet ... i am the major shareholder in our family business which was established in 1929 and which is one of the top four in its field in south africa ... i am one of a handfull of acknowledged antique experts and appraisers in our province ... i represented my province in cricket ... soccer and hockey ...

i do not expect anyone here to be overly impressed by any of this ... but when someone who doesn't know me at all ... calls me names and then says that i am unlikely to be interested in an affirmative action thread ... i feel it is time i said something in my defence ...

for the record my government has implemented a policy of affirmative action for the past fifteen years and this has affected the careers of many people i know including members of my own family ...

however i choose not to post on threads that are too real life ... as life is short enough and .. as cyndie lauper said ... girls (boys) just i wanna have fun ... (sometimes) ...

i posted my thread "i'm thru with flirting" on 02-26-2008 at 11:07 AM ... up to today 02-28-2008 at this time it has received 635 views and 69 replies ... apart from maybe one or two facetious remarks nobody on the thread has attacked or had a go at anyone else or ridiculed anyone or been nasty to anyone ...

on the contrary a lot of people have had a lot of fun on the thread and love, albeit the cyber keyboard type, has been in the air ...

so tell me ... is there anything wrong with that?

JJ, I know you've pizzed off a few people in the past but I haven't been one of them. I enjoy your writing, I don't read it all but time contraits don't always allow me too. I also don't often bother with the serious stuff unless I feel strongly about something, but even then I try to temper my opinions with consideration for someone else's point of view, I'm no angel and often have to walk away and think of something else and then come back!!



FG has been a massive source of fun, friendship, shared experiences, shared joy, shared sorrow and I consider everyone, yes everyone, here part of my extended family. Like all families you can't like everyone all the time, you don't know all your distant relatives well but you can still care about them, be interested in their lives and their welfare.



Flirting is fun, flirting is healthy, flirting on here can be uplifting and taken back into your real life relationship and give it a boost. On here I'm still young, slim and attractive - that's how I am inside, the packaging might be a bit dented in real life but real life is not here and flirting here, provided it's taken with a pinch of salt, does not harm my marriage, it makes me laugh and makes me happy - that helps my marriage!!



I say go for it, be who you are, if that's a flirt then fine, there's plenty here who'll flirt back.

Hey i wouldn't worry about it . Join in or don't join in, its not a popularity contest and you can't please all of the people all the time, so don't even bother trying .:-6

AS to my own opinion jj, life in the real world can be tough and I for one enjoy coming on and reading your comments, ay least it puts a smile on my face. Its all in good fun and lifes too short.

Just that you can see under his post count it is supposed to show your current time, and for JJ it says after 2pm and not midnight, so I was just suggesting that he should have a look and see if it needs fixing.

Wonder what my local time says, its 9.35am at the moment....I dont know how to change it anyhow
