Wow

While in Florida I watched a guy catch a stingray out of the same water/beach I was in all day.

Amazing

I noticed that too Cars, Abbey and Mags,

Think we should be a little quieter now so the snooper won't hear us...shhhh:lips:

Anway Cars, when I was in Siesta Key on a shelling tour boat the captain spotted something and high tailed it over there. We were in the midst of absolutely humungus sting rays. I couldn't believe my eyes......they were mating and took up miles of sea space...amazing....and yet so dangerous...

You know KE, I bet if we really knew of all the many "hungry" creatures living beneath the oceans that surround us, most of us would never venture into the ocean ever again! Unless it was not on a Cruise Ship, or some other big vessile & then pray it didn't sink! :wah: :D

(As they say: What we don't know, can't scare us!)

That's so true Cars:wah: Also, 2 years ago in Siesta Key a woman was bitten by a shark on the next beach. The woman was in waist high water. I adore the sea, but it scares me quite often.

Kathy Ellen, and you live right on the ocean so I'm sure you must see all sorts of wild things.

No Q,

It's really calm at the beach here.... nothing really exciting. Quite often we see dolphins who come pretty close to the shore, once in a blue moon a whale, and sometimes sting rays i and jellyfish in August who are at the water's edge. There are sharks somtimes out passed the surfers. Quite often the blues are running and they act like sharks on a feeding frenze.

Think that our life guards are very, very strict. The swimmers are made to leave the water at any sign of danger. If you don't come out of the water, the guards will swim out and drag you in.

Yes, I've seen them freaking out when somebody goes out too far or when they put up the red flags for riptides and stupid people think just because they can swim....................., then again walking on the beach and seeing what's in the fisherman's bucket can give you the chills:wah: Was there last August when that whole week of rain hit, but the ocean gave up some nice shells.

Oh, I am a shell seeker:-6

A few years ago, it was so cold that no one was walking on the beach. I found tons of beautiful shells and starfish. The fish were dead so I gathered them and dried them out. I had enought for my whole class plus. It seemed that there was a surge and everything on the bottom of the sea was pulled up and thrown on the beach. That's only happened 2x since I've lived here.

Oh, and we have lots of horseshoe crabs....lovely creatures....

Oh, they are a weird creature those horseshoe crabs:) My Q just gets grossed out but also curious. Also, I think if some people knew what was in the back baby, they would think twice about swimming in it:wah:
