No, I didn't bet this year but usually have a small flutter.
Good for you Pinky - make sure you spend it on something totally irresponsible!!:D

I won the princely sum of £7 plus my £1 stake on a £1 to win on Comply or die.
I also had 50p e/w on Mr pointme.
It just about covers the bets I put on for my mum & dad. :-2
But, still I won.
YAAAAAAAAAY!
Well done to you Pinks, it'll buy you a nice bottle of plonk to celebrate.:-6

I bet on King John's Castle who came in second and won myself twenty quid...bonus!
Did anyone have a flutter? How did you do?
The standard office sweep - I pulled Bob Hall and was advised be the Racing Post that there was no reason to expect that he'd make it round the course :wah:

I've never really been into it before, but it was kind of exciting! Plus the beer tokens are cool!
As a one off it can be really exciting - I was taken to Sandown for an evening meet and had a great time, I even managed to come out on top.

An interesting day out - if you're into people watching you'll go a long way to better it.
As a method for loosing money it takes a lot of beating too.
Keep to the middle ground and you'll enjoy.

People bothering - they should be honoured!

I notice on the BBC that the Grand National was run earlier, and I'm delighted to say had no idea at all. Long may it continue.

I agree. People who never actually bet on horse racing, can be moved to place a bet on the Grand National. It is such an "anybody's race" that a total novice can be more successful than a hardened gambler ! I admit to being an occasional dabbler on the Grand National, and I usually pick an interesting name, combined with a good trainer, and usually between 16/1 and 50/1. That is terribly technical LOL. However, I didn't do the Grand National this year !

Only ever in the office sweep and then I usually get a 100:1 outsider
