Hi ya guys, there I go last week saying that i'd be around more and I go and disapear again:-5

As some of you know the children have been asking for a dog for quite some time now, well after using every excuse in the book I finally sucummed to having a look around the shelters.

I told the kids that we were just going to look, and that I was in NO WAY getting a dog until May at the earliest..well we went to one shelter where Jenna was saying that she would like to take them all home and Sam was having to be dragged away from each cage. Most of the dogs were Staffs there, so it was a no no as Jennas ashtma could be made worse with the Staffs hair. I then drove to another shelter in Ascot, at this place you are interviewed and if she thinks that she has something suitable she will bring them out to you.

After a chat she said she may have something, well a 7 week old collie/spaniel cross was brought out to see us, after me warning the kids I was the worst, I got down on the floor to have a cuddle with him, he then piddled on me :wah:

He has a beautiful face and while he was climbing over Sam and looking over to Jenna, the lady was telling me that they had been abandened, he was left with his brothers, the person that found them took them to the Rescue Centre. Well, that was it "We'll have him" I heard myself saying, the kids faces were a picture, after me warning and moaning at them I was the worst one!:o

So I paid for him and arranged to collect him tomorrow after Sams football match, this afternoon we have brought his bed, blanket, bowls, stairgate, food, shampoo, collar, lead, registered him at the vets, booked his Jabs, taken out insurance, pheww, I think we are ready :wah:

So we were going through some names and have decided on 'Alfie' I will post pictures tomorrow or Sunday. I may be asking for some advice guys and I may bore you to death with tales of my baby!

Thanks chicky, the kids have it all planned, collect Alfie at 2 bring him home bath him, them try to settle him, they have brought enough toys to fill a box!!

Good luck Suzy.......I had 13 dogs at one point. Those were the days lol. 3 died this year and it broke my heart......Im down to 6 now and there good dogs and of course live with me indoors......mind you there small dogs so its not to bad.They all have their own little ways and at times are really funny.Anyway Im always here for you .....you know that......and hope Alfie gives you many years of love as Im sure he will......his lucky to be going to such a lovely family;)

You big softie!! I would have loved to have seen you try to keep your "stern momma" face on while that sweet puppy was given you loves!! I am so happy for your family and also sweet puppy Alfie, he is very blessed to be adopted by such good people.

aw lovely Suzy!!!:-4hurry up with the pictures:wah: I have had my new doggie for 2 months now and its amazing how quickly you become attached, and also very proud when they start to respond to training:D She was a nighmare to walk, but is doing really well now. The only thing is her apparent aggression towards some dogs,, not too bad if they are over the road but the closer we get the worse she gets:wah:Im still working on it though, and i tell ya what,,, its amazing how much notice she takes when i have a pocket full of ham:wah:

I'd like to introduce you to Alfie......ta da..... :-4:-4 He has now fallen asleep on Sams lap. he is doing so well, he has peed on the newspaper more often than not, he is such a clever boy

Just to let you all know that Alfie is not well

He has been passing blood since yesterday, he had an examination today and he weights less than 1 pint of milk :-1 He has had an antibiotic jab and is on a special diet, he has to see the vet again on Thursday.

They think that Alfie might be distressed leaving his brothers and it caused an upset tummy which has inflammed his bowl, but the problem is he is so small he can't afford to lose weight.

I feel sick where I am so worried, he is just so helpless and defensless.

They are small at that age aren't they - our Border Collie could stand on my hand when we got him and the cat housetrained him using the cat flap :wah:

With all of the love he's getting from your family any distress should go quickly.

May he heal soon - just take good care of him, do you hear?

Thanks Terri, wish you could see him, he is a real character. At the vets he charmed everyone, he isn't allowed down on the floor yet as he hasn't had all his jabs, he just sat in Jennas arms and let everyone stroke him:-4

Oh Suzy Im so so sorry little Alfie is ill.It must be so distressing for you all and also you must feel so helpless........he is getting medical treatment and has the love of you all so lets all hope little Alfie will be running around very soon love;)
