Essentially because of what I say and perhaps the way I say it in my posts on Forum Garden, I have over the months since I joined, taken quite a bit of criticism and banter, mostly light-hearted and teasing but at times not so light-hearted.

However over the last month or so a lot of the banter from certain quarters has become much less light-hearted and teasing and is now more personal.

Of course if I post a thread than anyone reading such a thread or post is fully entitled to disagree with me and say so in his or her reply. Nothing wrong with that and we all do it.

However when almost every time I post something, a nasty/rude remark is made in reply by a person or persons to whom my post was not even directed ¦ is that fair?

Hey! I’m a big boy now and I can mix it with anyone. I’ve taken many shots to the chin and been knocked down but have always got up again. But when these often uncalled for and nasty remarks begin to impact on my friends, well then that isn’t good at all.

Of course I know that I open myself up to criticism by the very nature of my posts that are largely made on threads where ladies are in the majority. Nobody likes to be criticised but some of us handle it a little better than others. Of course I don’t like being criticised either but I can handle it.

Having said that I do not believe that I have ever been guilty of harassing any particular lady. If I had been then surely by now someone would have complained and I would have received an infraction which to date I have not.

Everyone knows I flirt but when I flirt with a lady and she either ignores me or tells me to get stuffed ¦ I back off at once. In passing I might mention that sometimes the flirting is not always initiated by me.

Be that as it may ¦ some of the remarks posted in the threads where I am active have begun to hurt me, as they are downright nasty and cruel. For my part I have never reported a derogatory post or private message and believe me I have had my share, nor am I ever likely to but it saddens me that this is happening.

I think the records will show that I have often leapt to the defence of other members whom I have felt were being wronged in some way. In fact I have also private messaged members to show solidarity with them when I thought that they had been treated unfairly or unjustly.

I do try very hard not to express anger or god forbid hatred towards anyone on any of my posts, as I believe that if I did then this would be returned to me. You reap what you sow. But I now fear that eventually I will perhaps be baited or goaded into saying something hateful in return and I do not want this to happen.

So it is for this very reason that I am now simply going to ignore all such nasty/cruel posts and remarks ¦ something I suppose I should have done ages ago when they first started surfacing.

So I ask the people whose posts I am now forced to ignore to please forgive me ¦ I do not hate or even dislike you ¦ it is only the hurtful and cruel things you often say to me that I dislike. To you I send only my best wishes and my love.

Some people justify being cruel by saying ,"I'm only saying the truth." The diva in my office at work does this. There are ways of saying the truth without being cruel. Also, silence can be golden.

I don't like to hear of any member here in the Forum being mistreated. This doesn't just hurt the individual, but also hurts the Forum.

My point was, this is an Engish speaking forum and as a mod I dont see why I should have to translate to check what the post says.

Like i once said to you before , it's not a popularity contest ...you don't need to be a performing monkey ...just be yourself . i have a sister who was physically abused ... or as it is now more politically correct to say ... the victim of domestic violence ... by her husband for many many years ...

i spend many many hours rescuing her and tending to her black eyes and split lips ... one day when i was patching her up and she was wiping the tears off her face she said: "Jj look at this face and take note ... nobody is ever gonna make me cry again ... i swear it!"

her husband is long dead now and the tragedy is that to this day i personally have never seen her cry ... she has kept her promise ..

First I would like to say that Jj is a very funny and very nice person. I DID NOT make that post. I have a young girl that covers my phone when I am out of my home office. She also had access to my pc for business use only. When I left last night, she came in used my pc to post on this site. She also posted on another site as well (come kind of chat room). She said she used some kind of English to French translation site which infected my pc with a virus. This is how she was caught.

She was confronted this morning by my husand and I and she has been terminated.

I am not an ugly or mean person and I only come to the Garden to make friends which I have. I enjoy this site and hope all of you make sure to log out when you are done for the day.
