How sad that these ladies have to end their days in a strange country, personally i think it would be far better the doctors being able to assist you rather than a family member/spouse it must be a terrible burden on them.

I also know what i would do :lips:

I believe that the first and most important rule in being a doctor is "Do no harm." In keeping a person alive "indefinitely" there is a lot of harm being done, in some cases. Both to the person being kept alive by machinery, and that persons family. When the time comes for me, if I am being forced to live in pain, not allowed control over my own destiny, or the right to choose how I leave this earth, I'll eat a bullet. No one should have the ultimate decision forced upon them. It's my business how I live my life, and it's my busines how that life ends. Not a doctors, and certainly not the lawmakers.

Good morning, StelZ. :)

I haven't been up to date on my news lately, so I appreciate the articles. It seems a very fine line here, and I want to read a bit more before replying in full.

Off the top of my head, it appears that this case is determining who has the final say-so over a doctor's behavior as well as a patient's rights. Are you getting that same feeling about it?

Talk soon,

I used to play rugby with a couple of doctors and a nurse and they all told me (this was up to 20 years ago) that this went on anyway. Usually by Morphine overdose when there was no hope and they were sure it was what the family wanted, I have absolutely no proof of this whatsoever it is perely anecdotal.
