I agree, we are a race of extremes. We have amazing capability of extreme compassion, love, understanding and caring. Some acts of kindness that people do are great and not often heard about enough as the media just loves to report the negative stuff.

However by contradiction, if also amazes me of the extent of the level cruelty we can sink to and commit hideous cruel acts that would even make the devil’s stomach churn.

No, I am at work and the security filter blocks it, but I don't need to see it, I figure that it is just cruel and inhumane.

Jim some people just have no respect for animals its that simple.I read threads sometimes and can see that.One can get into so many arguments over this subject and have decided not to go there.I have also learnt that somebody can be the biggest ratbag.....but if they care about the welfare of animals theres something really good about that person.Children do not come into this as we all feel for what some suffer and I know all our hearts have gone out to that poor lady and her children in Austria and we all know what we would like to do to the bastard who gave that woman so much hurt and pain all those years.I just want to make a point of saying ...yes human life is so important but the animal kingdom should be looked after so much better.Always amazes me when we hear the hymn...........all things bright and beautiful..........all creatures great and small.....the Lord God made them all;)

well, i'm a hugh animal lover, have been all my life, maybe it's from growing up on a farm, but i am also very concerned about the children, i don't see why people can't care about both. I have cried many times over things i've heard about both!

since i've become a mother, these things i hear about children have an even worse effect on me! i just saw on our local news last night where they charged a woman for leaving her 2 year-old in the car and he died of heat stroke! that made me sick!

but we need to take care of our planet and everything on it, i mean it's the only home we've got!

i dont know why it always seems to go that way on fg if you post about your kids some animal lovers get miffed and if you post about your pets then you seem to get they love pets more than kids comments but i love animals i love people i love children to be cruel to any is so very wrong I agree on what you say here and that is why I added about children before somebody had a moan :rolleyes:;)

I always thought Star Trek was way too simplistic. Every planet they visited had only one group with one leader and if they fought at all it was with people from another planet.



I wonder if farm animals suddenly became intelligent as humans, would we all become vegetarians because we couldn't eat other intelligent beings, or would we become cannibals because we're just like the animals?

Just as I had stated in another thread, we all share the same home......earth. All countries should be working together for the benefit of people of every country. By sharing skills and knowledge and resources. I thought that was what the United Nations was about.
