This is a topic that came up whilst chatting to friends recently, most said the usual stuff but one said this and I thought it was beautiful....:-6

I see lines that stay even after I smile

I see eyes that know more than the face can show....

So what do you see??

Umm, I see hair that has seen better days:D and a stomach that's not as flat as it used to be, but then again I see four beautiful children standing in back of me.:-4

Well I'd hope to just see plain old me, because I'd be at little disturbed or worried, if there was someone else standing right behind me, then I'd start to panic! :wah:

A blur normally. I really should put my specs on.

It depends on the lighting, sometimes when I see my reflection in a mirror I look the way I feel inside (superb lighting) and other times I look like the photos of me (blaming it on the photographers helps my attitude in these cases).

OMG!!! what is reality???

Lots of times I feel I look like the beast nomad posted. My children can really relate to me because this monster is of their generation and they are more compassionate of my ugliness :wah:

i still see that same insecure, painfully shy little girl, that never thought she was pretty, who used to stand in front of the mirror and brush her hair and cry because it didn't look like all the other girls.

I see my MOTHER more each day. :-5:-5 Mind you she looks great for 80 if I fair half as well I will be OK, but I don't want to look like my mother. :-2

Wow, what a great question....and I'm going to answer it with the first response that came to my head when I saw the thread title....

A beautiful, strong, couragous woman that has been through a lot of crap in her life, and she comes back up kicking and won't let things get her down. A beautiful smile on her face makes me confident that everything is going to be okay...I like her....I used to complain about what I saw in the mirror, so thankful those days are over.....



I conveinently left out the bit about the gray hair.....the box of hair coloring has been in the bathroom for 2 weeks now....:rolleyes:

I see my father's nose and my mother's cheeks, surrounded by smile lines that are all my own. ......... miles and miles of smile lines.

I see the younger thinner better looking version of me ................. not what I see in photos of me!!!!

True story. I walked out of the restroom at work a few weeks ago and asked my husband when I became my mother. That's not a bad thing at all, just I realize that age is finally starting to catch up to me. :-1

My daughter and I share some facial features..............so when I look in the mirror, sometimes I see her...........and smile while I'm thinking of her.
