Our problem is that we live next to Lake Ontario and it ususally melts our snow in a matter of days. No North Wind and you have the lake radiating its 39 degrees farenheit over about six to ten miles from the shoreline. Skiing sucks here but a few miles away it's a gas.

Well. December and January were a bust.. but since then things have been pretty good.. we need a couple more big storms.. 2 footers. then spring skiing will be killer.. plus the deeper the snow.. the softer when you fall.. as I have been doing.. learning to surf the earth....

I have heard that the snow is rapidly melting due to the greenhouse effect in Scotland. What will they call Snowdonia when it's all gone?

Howdy Slush, love the name. Hope you enjoy your stay in the garden and please forgive me for not getting into a discussion about snow, It is something I see way to much of here in my fair city and right now it is nice sunny and warming so I shan't jinx it.
Have fun in the garden.

Snow's all gone now, although there's still some up the hill where I live, not enough to ski though! I love it when its freshly fallen and picture postcardish but not when it goes all slushy and grey, yuck! Was too scared to drive into uni this morning cos the roads were so dangerous but by lunchtime they were ok
I assume you mean edinburgh uni? At least you will heve no road tolls to pay. I think we need to start charging edinburgh people for coming out.
