We have been advised by the council not to put our rubbish in a bin which is situated just round the corner. We have been advised that it is for public use only, so now we have to keep smelly rubbish around our homes until the bin men can be bothered to fetch it on a Wednesday; they havn't been for month's.

I read in one of the British tabloids last week that a certain local council is to chop down all the horse chestnut trees on council owned land. Why? Because they're worried that a that a ripe chestnut, complete with its hard spiky case, may fall on someone and hurt them.
I got smacked on the head 2 years ago by a falling conker & believe it or not it really hurt me, but would'nt even enter my head to sue the council.

I just hope that other councils dont follow suit, my local park is full of kids enjoying the joys of conkering in the autumn months...me being one of em!!

Do you guys have to pay the council for wheelie bin collection?

We have black boxes which we are supposed to put recycled items in. the problem is the binmen keep ignoring them and collecting the odinairy rubbish. salisbury District Council are about as useful as a pop gun against an army. there also as realiable as a broken suspender belt! they charge too much money and what do they do, abasultely F!"£$% all!!!

I think someone needs to take all of our bureaucrats and attorneys down behind the woodshed for a little "re-education."

Today i went to the next town to me & in the middle of the shopping hall there were 8 people accosting shoppers asking if they'd had any accidents or injuries in the last 3 years, blimey talk about ambulance chasing!!

I completely agree with Tombstone. Life's risky....you could get hurt crossing the street. So wht are we going to do? Just stay inside all the time? I lament the death of "personal responsibility"

There was a time when people enjoyed life free of fear, and took responsibility for their actions. If you slipped on the ice, you didn't immediately think, "Who can I sue?" instead you thought, "Boy, I should be more careful on the ice."

Then there's the death of Swingsets, Monkey bars, and diving boards at pools. Thanks a bunch sue-happy people and insurance companies (See: also Satan's Minions).

I guess there's some comfort in knowing that the idiocy of incompetent, petty politicians, the ministrations of crude, vulgar "service" workers, and the greedy nincompoops with law degrees, is shared by us all. How about we start abducting these slimeballs, send em to France. :driving:
