The Perfect Omlette

Chop tomato, bell pepper, sharp cheese, mushroom, ham. Take three eggs and splash of milk and mix in blender.

Take a one quart ZIPLOC BAG and pour the egg and milk in the ZIPLOC BAG.

Take the other ingredients and mix into the bag with the eggs and milk and then squeeze all the air out of the bag and seal tight. Then take the bag and put in a pot of boiling water for 12 to 15 minutes. Don't worry about over cooking it. Cut open the ZIPLOC BAG and voila!!!, you have the perfect omlette. BON APPETIT

Thanks but I'll take my omelettes without plastic toxins leached into

them in boiling water!

Sorry Val--------it's chemically impossible for toxic leaching to occur.

Best you precook them, otherwise they are just steamed.

In what way?

Put boiling water into a plastic vending cup and you can smell the stuff boiling off.

OK--------I was wrong-----there is a possibility that toxic leeching can occur.

Bad idea---------back to using the skillit.

Sorry for the bad cooking tip.

I do it all the time - cook a curry / chilli / whatever for four, bag three portions up in ziploc bags to microwave them (still in the bag) for my lunch / tea another day.

Whilst I recognise the danger I consider it to be slight given the other risks I take.

I'm a fan of beefing my omlettes up with some potatoes and onions in addition to all the ingredients you mentioned. Without the extra starch I find them delightful but not filling, even with some lovely ciabatta. I boil the potatoes in oil beforehand, to get that lovely soft texture - fatty but delicious!
