His daddy - Patrick Cockburn's daddy, that is, not the empire-building war criminal's daddy - was famous for printing truths before the outbreak of World War Two. People who want to stop the current outrage take information to him - Patrick Cockburn - knowing he can get them into public discussion while there's still time for the information have an effect, rather like people take information to Seymour Hersh.

I see what you mean the only other things on this are just other agencies picking up on it-not that a quick five minute trawl shows anyway.

US issues threat to Iraq's $50bn foreign reserves in military deal
If it's true I would have thought it would be getting shouted from the rooftops, kind of lays to rest the theory that invading Iraq was about restoring democracy.
