Hats off to Villa

I don't know if this even made the news outside of the Midlands. My nearest BIG football team, (ie English Premier League team) Aston Villa, have passed up on lucrative shirt advertising, worth millions each season, to support a local childrens hospice called Acorns. With the amount of money in the game nowadays, it wouldn't hurt other top teams to follow Villas lead. I think it's a fantastic idea, and Dr G and Krammy should be justifiably proud of their team. Well done Villa, I say! :-6 :-6

Absolutely. :-6
It said on my local news today that Everton have stopped printing the name of their sponser (chang) on their kids shirts as it's Thai beer and it gives the wrong message to kids.
It's about time football clubs realised the power of advertising.
Can't see my club giving up their sponsers somehow.
Greedy sods.
