Road Rage!

This subject has been discussed in the past, but every time I see it on the road, I can't help but want to discuss it again.

Yesterday we needed to take a road trip to NYC of about 200 miles R/T. And sure enough, the entire trip couldn't take place without us witnessing some idiot's Road rage!

Don't these dumba*s doofuses realize when they Road Rage drive, that they endanger all the innocent vehicles around them. I'm sure some of them must, but I also believe that they can't help it, as it really is some sort of anger mgmt disease. Many meek, mousey, people during the day, seem to transform into Road Rage kill or be killed kamikaze drivers when they get behind the wheel of a car.

So do you feel it may be a disease as well? :-2

it is a anger management problem of some kind!

people don't try to control their anger any more, they get angry at every little thing! and if they are on the road at the time, they put everyone around them in danger!

I don't see a lot of road rage here, people are too laid back to care. You get the odd bird or honk if you change lanes without indicating or pull out in front of someone but generally if someone wants to get in front of us - we pull back and let them! Or if theres a slip lane you're guaranteed someone will slow down so you can merge.

But we have rules, if you do the wrong thing that would normally get you a honk or the bird but acknowledge you were wrong and say sorry by giving a little wave to the car you offended, you are usually forgiven your indescrepancy. If you just keep driving, you get Tassie road rage- a honk of the horn and a finger! I know, it's a funny little place, but I luvs it :D :-4
No koo, I'm talking much more serious then just honking the horn & or bird. I'm talking about one idiot chasing another idiot down the road weaving in & out of innocent drivers cars at 70+ mph for as far as you can see down the road! Passing cars on the "breakdown shoulder" lane, cutting drivers off, so for them to keep up the chase with the other car, etc. Consequently, they are seriously endangering all aorund them! Where's the "State Troopers" patrol when you need them?

Driving a vehicle is sometimes the only sense of power some folks have. When the rage hits, they don't think......they just react. And you're so right.......dangerously so. Also, alot of folks seem to have the attitude that they can handle driving a car, talkiing on a cell phone, eating a snack, putting on make-up...all at the same time. Where is the responsibilty and the common sense?

When you are angry, or upset, or want to make a phone call, or eat a snack, or primp..................pull over safely to the side of the road. Take a few moments. You may be a little late to you destination, but you will get there..........and other folks will get to their destination.

I so agree with you - idiots..

Never fails - everytime we're on the road, same thing - 70 mph, weaving - cutting eachother & others off.

We're at the RED LIGHT, end of the road race - when the 2 idiots get out of their cars and all hell broke.

Today a vehicle is behind me, she goes around me & in front of me to a RED Light - my blinkers on - she didn't know she was in a TURN ONLY LANE & Now wants back over into the other lane..........

I must admit I was pissed off, talking to myself sorta - not screaming.

I wedged in to make my turn - look over, shake my head - STUPID.

Who are these Road Ragers - the young & the dumb - the stressed out - the medicated - the ones that think it's a video game - it's - -

So Much For a Nice Comfortable Ride - remember those days of just going for a Ride ? those days are gone

You're welcome, and Yes KE, I remember your thread, & even posted in it myself. IMO, there should be some kind of Police Site on the web, where when a regular citizen driver, gets the plate # of the offending RR driver, they could actually lodge a RR complaint against that driver. And after say 3 seperate complaint reports from varioous citizens against that same plate #, then the system would alert the police dept, & they would actually get involved.
