Do they refer to you by your name, call you mum / Dad or call you something awful like Stepmonster ect?

How do any of the above make you feel?

I call my step mother by her name. I don’t really think of her per say as my ‘step mom’ because she married my dad long after I was out of the house so she was not involved in raising me. However, I consider her very much as part of our family even now years after my father death.

My step-daughters call me by my name, they were 7 & 9 when I married their dad and for a while they tried calling me mum but giggled each time they said it so they gave up! I never pushed them either way, they had a mum, she died, I was not taking her place but I was doing her 'job' so I left it up to them.

I was 6 years old when my mum met my Step-Dad and I was 8 years when they got married and I called him Dad with pride. He has been the best Dad ever and deserves the title. My real father however does not.

My step-kids are all adults, and they call me by my first name. Which is okay by me.

Rick has a step daughter in law he is still close with. He broke off contact with her ex..his stepson. She is now an adult, and calls us by our names. Her two kids call us Grandpa Rocky (his nickname) and Grandma Marie

My stepdaughter calls me by my name. She has a mom; she didn't need another one. :-6

My older brother, Ike, called dad Les or Lester. Ike's dad was killed in a railroad accident. Mom later married dad and bore the rest of us.

When I was a wee snot I called dad Les once. Got a mean look from dad. Mom took me aside and explained it all to me.
