Thank you Hope for giving me this thread idea.
What do you do when your day is over and it's time to mellow out? Do you have any routine things you do, any comfort rituals?
I put on a comfy nightshirt or pajamas and slippers and I sit here at the computer with a glass of diet coke on ice and talk to you guys and surf. I might put on some cuticle cream or hand cream. I might be drinking my diet coke from a pretty wine glass, just for aesthetics. I will have on Miles Davis's "Blue in Green" because it *sounds* like the end of a long day.
What do you do?

Well, 5 PM is not really the end of the day for me but it is the time my ritual takes place which consists of a glass of wine with a bit of cheese before the evening meal between 6 to 6:30 PM. I generally go to bed about 11 PM and am up at 5:30 AM most days.

Now that sounds nice, Lon. Do you have a particular wine or kind of cheese that you like best?

during the week I like to take a hot shower and then read in bed, it's such a relaxing end to the day and I sleep so good when I do that.

Oh I agree! I love to read in bed- especially Stephen King novels!

That sounds delish! Especially the Gouda part. Have you ever tried Havarti cheese? I like that one quite well with crackers.

MMM...rainy days! That means spending a leisurely afternoon working on a jigsaw puzzle or if it's Sunday, reading the paper cover to cover!

Weekdays when I have the children, its bath, pj's, head to bed to watch a film or surf (or get my assignments done more recently).
Weekends when I don't have the children it's generally go and sit at the beach for an hour or so around midnight. Rough or calm, I love to take a walk across the beach, often sit and meditate there. Bliss.

My day ends around 4-5pm and then it's time to make dinner. Right now since it's summer, go on the deck and relax and wait for hubby to get home and he joins me. Just sit and chat and listen to his funny stories about his day. Always something to laugh about.:wah:
Then after dinner, we just sit and watch some tv and he usually goes to bed before me so I sometimes come here and chat, but usually just watch something stupid on tv.:p

Yoga's great. I used to do it along with Lilias on this tv show called "Lilias, Yoga and You." Did you ever watch that?

That really does sound nice! Especially that late at night; I can just picture moonlight bouncing off the ocean....

That's really nice! A lot of married people seem to have forgotten how to talk with each other. I think it's nice that you enjoy his company.

I guess that's why we've been together for 22 yrs. Always having a good laugh and some really silly arguments but nothing to get upset about, except for the last one which involved an insane caterer:D

Mine are at the computer until wee hours of the morning....surfing and doing school work.
I would love to be able to walk on the beach every-night... that would be wonderful!
