Are your opinions and beliefs carved in stone? Are you capable of changing your mind? The Media has recently reported one or another politician as Flipflopping on their ideas. Is that bad? As new data and information becomes available to us that was previously unknown, what's wrong with changing our minds?

One should be steadfast on some things. What would change Obama's mind on gun control? Was he assaulted and robbed? Did he experience a home invasion? No. It was voter threat. If a politico can change their mind to get elected, they can change it back AFTER election. Never trust a flipflopper.

The Republican media is just slinging whatever they can at Obama. Before he swayed they were on him about not having been to Iraq to speak with commanders in charge. Now they say hes buckling.

Limbaugh and his ditto heads make themselves sound like brain wash recipients.

They have tunnel vision and are unable or incapable of bending.

Being say a Conservative no matter what the issue or situation, party rules all the way is dangerous and weak in my mind.

If you cant assess and adjust as the matter at hand dictates then you keep doing the same things you always do.

Change is critical and essential in an ever changing world.

No wonder Obama scares them, they dont know how to adapt.

Theyre still going to try to win the election but they know its a long shot.

Why do you suppose they would have preferred Billary win the nomination ?

It's just my opinion but to me, a flipflopper is a confused, possibly scared, person.

Are my beliefs carved in stone - NO, and they shouldn't be.

There's certain grounds where I stand - but you have to hear other opinions/beliefs.

I say HEAR - take in. my way may not be right.

Issues would not be right - example - abortion, it's yes or no

I won't appreciate a Politicians changing their stand on ISSUES.

Depends I think on the type of issues. Some things you can afford to be wrong about. We all have room to learn and grow. But...not to be cliche or quote John Mellencamp, but if you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything. I've changed my mind about some pretty important things in my lifetime but I've not wavered from my core beliefs.

I only wear flipflops in the summer, way too cold in the winter..

As I live my life, I find that I am becomming a more openminded person, freeing myself from the ignorance of my beliefs founded by what my friends and family have passed onto me, but I have not bothered to find out for my self. Belief by ignorance, possibly.



I am always willing to change how I feel about something, but as my skills In learning how to validate or invalidate something become better as I grow older, I find that my beliefs are founded on more solid facts rather than ignorant assumptions.

Im all about ignorant assumptions Wop, its not for everybody but it works for me.

When I was a leadership instructor in the Air Force I would regularly question my students on their opinions, the theory being that they would be leading people with an infinite variety of beliefs and opinions, and the leader had better be well-situated in his own mind so to be more accepting of others. Whenever a student responded to my endless barrage of 'why? why? why?' with 'that's the way my parents believed' or similar statement, I would always light into them with partially-feigned anger. "I didn't ask how they believed; I asked for YOUR opinion. Borrowing theirs is fine while you're a child, but you're an adult now. You need to examine that opinion and decide for yourself if it is good - decide if you really agree. Very likely, you'll find that you truly do agree, but now you'll know why! Then you will have your own opinion."
