A neighbour woke me this morning to tell me my car had been broken into , they had damaged the door lock and stole my Blue badge , had to report it to police ( they are worth a £1000 on the market ) police came around very quick had a look at the damage to car door and wrote it up , later when I went to try and have a door lock fitted I could not move the car the b@st@rds had broke my steering colum , they broke a small window last week , I know it is only a car but the wife and I are both dissabled and are now stuck in doors untill it is fixed . I cant write what I realy think about these scroats on here but they are not pleasant thoughts

I know exactly how you feel:mad:. Last year we had our minivan's back window smashed in by a baseball bat. Know who did it, but had no proof. The little b*stard. Thankfully, hubby knew a company that could fix it right there in the driveway.
Although there was a bright side to it as it happened on a Saturday night and I had to take my kids to church the next day. We all piled into the van and I go to look out the back and there is a huge hole. Weren't going to church that day. Kids were VERY HAPPY:wah:

I am so sorry this happened and I hope they catch the scum that did this to you. I don't want to sound ignorant but may I ask what a Blue Badge is

Thanks , the Blue Badge is issued to dissabled people and it allows them to park in places where others are not , it can be used throughout Europe

Thank you. Here in the US they are called handicapped plaques and we have to carry an ID that matches the number on the plaque that was issued. If someone were to steal mine, it would be worthless without the ID card. Again, I am so sorry for what they did to you and your wife. I hope you have someone that can help you while the vehicle is being repaired. Geez...how low can you go to do something like this :-5

It's not good, Fester. The only acceptable act that would be meaningful is for the country to find and prosecute the people who did it, sooner rather than later. If it were normal for them to be caught promptly and prosecuted promptly then perhaps this sort of profit-minded crime would become unprofitable and then it would finally stop. The ball has to be in the lap of the police, nobody else can do it.

I disagree with this statement. If the country didn't place a "price tag" on the resale value of these cards, then why would people want to steal them in the first place? There is no way in you know where the police are going to find these people. I believe once stolen, the card missing reported, should hold no value other than to the disabled person who no longer has it. BTW why is this country charging money for this card when the person who needs the card, is disabled? If there was no value to stealing these , there would be no scum doing this :-3

You have me puzzled.
The country places no value on the cards, to the best of my knowledge. Criminals, and only criminals, do. The country, unless I'm entirely mistaken, gives them away free and probably replaces them free too. Why do you think the country charges for them?

I stand corrected Spot. It's what they are worth on the market. Who determines what they are worth on the market? This is so sad and once stolen, there should be a way to report that and then they would be worth nothing. Is parking so scarce that people would resort to this? I feel so bad for this crime. :-1

In Manchester these badges are highly sought after by people travelling into the city to work, it guarantees them a space to park free for an unlimited time.
The picture of the disabled user is strangely on the reverse of the badge so police and traffic wardens cannot make a comparison.

Unk, People who steal are scum:-5
To steal is bad enough but to steal from a disabled person is the lowest of the low .
The people who use them are no better than the theives that steal them ....my god what is this world coming to when people even steal from the disabled.:-5:mad:
