Horrendous stomach ache

On rhe morning of June 22nd, I woke up with a horrendous stomach ache.

Having been fortunate to enjoy very good health for all of my life, I really wig out when something goes wrong. I am very into alternative medicine, have sort of a disdain for physicians, and definately the pharmacuetical industry.

Anyway, this illusive stomach ache lasted for 9 days. Lower pelvic pain, back pain, very painful right hip. Running back anf forth to the bathroom. ( Ill leave it at that.

Of course, Igot involved on the web, searching my symptoms.

I narrowed it down to:

Cervical cancer

Ovarian cancer

Colon Cancer

Irritable Bowl Syndrome

And my greatest fear........ The return of my melanoma in my gastrointestinal track. ( Which would totally make me a goner)

In my serach, I stumbled upon HUMAN INFESTATION OF PARASITES.

Which led to Colon Cleanses etc...............

According to many experts we are all being eaten alive with parasites.

I have spent the last two weeks convinced that I have parasites.

I figured I am a great candidate, because of working in the dirt reguarly.

During my research, I stumbled across an alternative medicine physician, who is also a vet. She suggested I go to the local farm bureau and buy the same worming medication used on dogs, cats, and horses.... and take it.

When I imagined myself, doing this... I slammed on the brakes, and realized I was completely out of control.

I made an appointment with a local internist who did blood work, and yuck!!

stool ( whispered) samples. I also have an appointment with my gyno on the 15th.

So..... two questions

Have any of you done much reading about the parasite theorys?

And did you know that a colonoscopy at a hospital costs 5,000.00 ?

The parasite thing has me totally crazy.

And iM really pissed off to discover the cost of the colonoscopy.

How in Gods name are the majority of people supposed to have this test done?

Have you thought about possible food allergies? I would try that first, it is just a change in diet and you will know within a week or less if it is that.

I think this is where you will find out what your problem is. 9 day with accute stomach problems isn't a parasite its something else. Colon Cleansing is OK but can also be very dangerous if you have something else going on. I suggest a Colonoscopy.

Colonoscopy is done on an outpatient basis just had one. You out within 2 hours. It is done in your gastroentrology department. I have insurance so it cost me nothing to have it done since I'm in the age group that it is a standard procedure. It is painless and worth the effort. I got a clean bill of health don't need one again for 10 year. I do have a tremendous amount of scar tissue from the hysterectomy I had 30 years ago (then didn't scope them) and that is what causes me discomfort.

Sorry Weeder 9 days of chronic stomach pains goes beyond holistic medicine and needs a diagnosis from a medical professional. Hope your feeling better soon and get the answers you want. :yh_hugs

Pay me no attention, I know nothing, but parasite worms in the digestive tract are easy to clear up herbally, people have been doing it for centuries. I have no idea at all whether that's what's caused your problem but if it is it's more eww than argh. These things have a hard time getting to where they live and a harder time still clinging on, they're on borrowed time if you do decide to take the stuff that will fling them out. On the other hand it might take a month to feel confident that they're not coming back.

The blood work and samples results ought to be enough to know for a fact if that's the trigger. When do you get the results from them?

Carla's right about the nine days being a long time but you've got those results in the pipeline. I hope they tell you what's going on and stop you from worrying so much. If they don't then she's right, the sooner you have an answer the better.

Could you be another victim of salmonella. They still haven't exactly figured out what is causing the outbreaks. They have it narrowed down to jalapeno peppers, fresh cilantro and tomatoes.

Weeder, the idea of parasites freaks me out too, but they say we all have some.

Could it be your body reacting to internalized stress? That can happen and it can be very scary when it does, making you think something is very wrong. But good for you for getting things checked out. Like the others, I wait to hear how it goes.

No, I mean parasites. It's said most of us have some and don't even know about it. That they often don't make their presence known. If you've ever seen ads for colon cleansers you know how they prey on people's fears of the "unknown" meaning worms. Eww.

You started with "all", now you're down to "most"? I'm quite certain that an advert from a company which makes its income from selling to the public would be implicitly untrustworthy. I don't think it's all. I think it's a small proportion.

Weeder !!!!!

This is not a parasite problem. 9 days

Don't try to self diagnose - you'll be nuts with worry.

Your lab work will be able to direct DR's on the problem

Have you had a hysterectomy? Is this 9 days of pain @ your monthly date?

I woke one day with severe stomach pain with severe migraines off & on. 1994

had a partial hysterectomy 1995.

Dr.s first gave me meds for irritable Bowel - I threw them away, I know my body and these meds weren't the answer.

since 1995 I've had 16 sugerys & thrown into menapause.

I'm not trying to scare you - I developed cysts several in my abdominal area along with removing scar tissue- appendix, spleen, and all my gear..

my stomach ache is gone finally - I was a mess inside, my case was extreme.

RED - we all have bugs - mites - parasites of some sort.

Susie, At this age, never having had any food allergies, I would doubt that to be the case.

Carla. I know 9 days is too long to go with a stomach ache. I was very, very worried, and I knew it was time to see a doctor.

Patsy, I too had a partial hysterectomy 13 years ago. Some of the pain was in the area of the incision. I had a benign tumor the size of a two liter bottle of soda on my uterus.

I see the gynocologist on July 15th. My blood work with the internist came back normal. Still waiting for doo doo results. I want to have a colonoscopy.

No medical coverage. 5,000.00 is out of the question. After the gynocologist, I am going to investigate some clinics in Roanoke.

Spot.. I have done a ton of research about the herbs that kill parasites, and I do believe we all are home to some of them. Im not going on an herb cleanse until I see the doctor and rule out any female problems.

I am however going to start to drinl apple cider vinegar with distilled flaxseed, and purified water everyday. I have also looked into foods that kill parasites. Garlic and carrotts are 2.

The reason I didnt go running to a doctor during the 10 days was because I am so scared of ever finding out there is anything wrong with me, I go into denial. Also with vague symptoms like mine, they immediately would be ordering all kinds of expensive tests. Cat Scans, Sonograms etc.......

So, I decided to wait it out, and if I wound up in really bad pain, I would have had to have gone to the emergency room.

Thanks so much everyone. I hope your all well.

For sure its parasitic infestation of the lower intestinal tract.

Lets see its the middle of July so in the next few days they should be hatching their eggs. All hell will break loose after the little hatchlings start exploring.

Its fine though, no need to worry, theyre just curious critters.

I too had a tumor on the outside of my uterus - the size of a football by the time it was removed.

Your aware that that Tumor you had removed leaves spores/cells which float around and make other tumors. That's what happened to me & alot of scar tissue - that's why I had so many surgerys. They attached themselves to my ovarys etc. like I said I was a mess.

Have you ever had a colonoscopy?

I have one every 2 years - yuk, but necessary

Don't live with the Pain as Chonsgirl mentioned - go to ER.

good luck - keep us posted

Hope you feel a little better and you get a diagnosis soon hun.

I looked up the parasite thing Weeder, interesting stuff indeed.

Millions of parasites, including mites, worms, bacteria, fungi, and viruses are eating your flesh right now. The human race is subject to infestation by more than 1,000 types of parasites. These freeloaders can be extremely harmful, wreaking havoc on the health or their unwitting hosts.

Virtually all parts of our bodies will host some type of parasite within our lifetimes. Parasitic infestation of the bodies of humans has reached epidemic proportions in some parts of the world, including North America, representing a major health challenge that is often overlooked by medical professionals. There is a tendency to only treat the symptoms: chronic fatigue, skin rashes, muscle and joint pain, weakened immune system, forgetfulness, food allergies, colitis, water retention and many others, without considering that parasites may be the root cause of health problems.

Parasites are living beings that exist on the bodies of other living things. Inside the human body, parasites enjoy what we eat, sucking the nutrients from our food while we get the leftovers and the parasites’ waste products. An example a particularly nasty parasite is an American species of hookworm, aptly named Necator Americanus or American Murderer. These ugly creatures attach themselves to intestinal walls, then suck on tissues and blood, causing the host to suffer from iron deficiency anemia.

When we are always hungry, we may jokingly say that we have tapeworms. However, there is nothing funny about tapeworms. These huge parasites may be more than 30 feet long and are capable of producing a million plus eggs a day. Tapeworms consume so much food that the host may actually be hungry all the time, yet may appear obese because of tapeworm-induced water retention.

Pinworms are extremely common intestinal parasites. It's hard to avoid pinworm infestation; their eggs are often airborne. Once pinworms are snugly ensconced inside the human body, they crawl outside the anus at night, causing severe itching, and then lay their eggs on bedding or sleep wear.

One thing to remember about parasites: Although most of them lack a brain as we know it, they are highly developed survival machines. They focus all their energies on eating and reproducing. Getting rid of them is difficult.

Not all parasites are menacing. Some living things that park themselves on or in our bodies actually perform a service. One example is the relatively harmless tooth amoeba. Brushing your teeth won't drive these tiny squatters out; they run for cover when they see a toothbrush, then happily emerge to feast on microscopic bits of food or other organic material. This kind of relationship between host and parasite is called mutualism.

Another less than dangerous parasite is the dust mite. Although they can cause allergies, dust mites operate as a sort of clean up crew for our skin. They march about on our skin and scalps all day, scarfing up dead skin cells. They coexist with Demodex Folliculorum, the rather ordinary eyebrow mite, which lives in human hair. Harmless compared to the Dracula-like hookworm, eyebrow mites have been implicated in hair loss but pose no significant health risk.

Combine the invisible guests such as worms and bacteria with visible ones like fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, lice and flies -- all of whom feed on human blood or tissue -- and it’s easy to get a little paranoid about being host to an army of parasites.

What to do if you suspect that you suffer from an infestation of harmful parasites? (Remember, experts say that more than 85 per cent of us are.) The first thing to remember is; don't panic and run out to buy a bagful of remedies that may be useless. Removing parasites takes time and patience. There are a number of books available that provide useful information that will help you and your health care provider make wise decisions. Check out The Essentials of Medical Parasitology by Thomas J. Brooks. Animals Parasitic in Man by Geoffrey Lapage. Medical Parasitology by Markell and Voge, and just for fun, consider Furtive Fauna by Roger Knutson. On the Web , search for writings by Dr. Ross Anderson, N.D., Dr. Peter Wina, Dr. Frank Nova, and Dr. Hazel Parcels.

One additional way you can keep parasites away is to strengthen your own immune system. Eliminate sugar, saturated fat, junk food, white flour, yeast, alcohol, tobacco and caffeine. Avoid eating meat that is not well done. Educate yourself about proper food handling and storage practices. Drink plenty of pure water and consider a moderate exercise program.

Practice good personal hygiene by washing your hands often with an antibacterial soap. Clean surfaces in your home with a mixture of 1/4 cup liquid laundry detergent (not dishwashing detergent) and 4 tablespoons chlorine bleach per gallon of water. Use rubber gloves and keep the area well ventilated.

Take Care:-4

Patsy... Im very upset. No one ever mentioned spores, or other tumors growing to me..........

Will the gunocologist be able to feel anything??? I want an answer.

Nomad.... Hate to tell you Buddy, but if IVE GOT WORMS.... YOUVE GOT THEM TOO.:wah:

I dont have a stomach ache now. I convinced the medical doctor to give me a pill for parasites just to appease me. I promised him that I would drop off the doo doo before I took it. I think he was just humoring me because according to everything I have read.. 100mg of a pesticide isnt going to do anything . But I took it anyway.

This parasite thing is really big. Once you start to investigate it, you discover that there are doctors who believe that the critters are responsible for just about everything that goes wrong with humans..

Oh my GOD!!! I just realized.. Supposedly there are types that burrow themselves into your brain. The HOSTS begin to behave in a most peculiar way. That must be where NOMAD has them.

Thanks for reading Abbey and Accountable I appreciate the support, and as always.. The love:-4 from all of you.

I am a very very hygenic person. The tub is my haven for anything and everything that ails me. Because I work outside, I am constantly scrubbing my nails with a brush. I believe that I have a diet that based on a 1 to 10

gauging healthy is an 8. But I dont know about getting rid of the tobacco, and the alcohol totally.

Discovering the world of parasites in humans is enough to make anyone drink!!

You know Patsy.... it really is weird sometimes, how much you and I have in common. We have led very similar lives... Right down to our uteruses.....

WE will definately have to explore some other subjects.

Oh weeder I wish yoou well my dear. My oldest went through 3 years of stomach pain, had all the tests, ulcer, IB, colonsocopy (sorry on the spelling) and the scope from the other side, (throat down), saw a gastrointestinal specialist, had many pregnancy tests, many trips to the ER and nothing. In the end it was a severe allergy to sun flower seeds. Thankfully she is fine now.

I hope all turns out for you dear girl.

You asked if OBGYN will find any problems - Yes

How long did it take for the Dr's to find the last growth?

Oh, it had to be 2 liters large .

My problem - the Dr's didn't believe me and were pill happy, like go away little girl.

Weeder

I know your smart

but, you already ruled a number of things out right? like regular foods eaten on a regular basis. something new you've eaten, maybe a new exercise - all the basics are ruled out right?

OBGYN - 1st, will be exam - ultrasound & perhaps a wand ultrasound.

tell the DR. would appreciate any test that will show any growths/mass., lesions

Dr. could/will recommend MRI & or CT SCAN with & without contrast.

you know the format from last time.

I'm glad you have meds to relieve your pain & discomfort

if it gets too painful - don't take more meds - go to ER & get a shot, there's no reason to be in pain during this waiting game.

Your welcome to PM me anytime

I'll be thinking about you, please keep us posted..
